Is there any app or product that allows for a child to hear the book being read and follow along reading the text at the same time. My daughter has just been identified as dyslexic and this has been suggested as an option to help with her reading and vocab.

Look for books labeled for Immersion. You buy the e-book first, then you buy the Audible version, usually at a discount after getting the e-book. As the Audible book reads the e-book, the text is highlighted. You must use a device with sound, so something like the PaperWhite wouldn't work. I use my Fire HD. If you don't have one, check into the Amazon reading apps for computers and tablets. I haven't tried Immersion with them, but you can check it out.

how young/old is your daughter. there are several "interactive reading" apps in the app store. they are listed by the specific book for each app.

the Dr Seuss books/interactive apps are favorites for my nieces and nephews. there's usually 3 choices for each book. "read to myself," "read to me," and "auto read/play."

here's a link and example of the one that is "read" most often on my kindle fire:

The Cat in the Hat - Dr. Seuss

She is 10 turning 11 and loves reading but struggles so I don't want her to loose the passion.

Thank you Vampire and CatChat I will look at both of these.

CatChat has a great idea for children's interactive book apps, and these go on sale occasionally. I had forgotten about those.

As for the immersion books, it might be quicker to find them at the site as they have a section for the e-books and matching immersion Audible. Lots of the classics are there, most of the e-books are free or 99 cents with the Audible around 99 cents. Since Audible is owned by Amazon, you can use your Amazon account.
