Loz says:
If you just bought it, return it for a refund.

Just to let you know, you can install other browsers. But seeing as you didn't actually ask for help, never mind.

It's great to have options, Owen. But, I don't think most of us care what you're doing and why. Have a nice day.

I did my research. Decided that while the Kindle Fire is a great device for its intended purpose, it didn't quite fit my intended purpose in all areas. So I purchased a device that suited my needs, and didn't bother announcing it to the whole world. Of course it's not for everybody. Nothing is. Return it (why would you let it gather dust if Amazon have a generous 30-day return so you can actually try it out?). Move on.

an honedt product review is not a bad thing .

OK, but this is a discussion forum, not the Kindle Fire HD product page, where a review of the KF HD is supposed to be made.

Wow!

Does this mean that I have to send back the 3 Kindle Fire HD 7" and the 4 Kindle Fire HD 8.9" devices back?

If that's the case, there will be some really unhappy people here. None of us had the slightest clue there was anything wrong with any of them.

What to do?

Owen, when you buy your iPad, do you think you could send 3 mini's and 4 regulars to my address so that none of us will feel the pain of having to use Kindle Fire HD's?

It would really be appreciated, and since you want to save us from ourselves, I think it would be the best way to get your point across.

Thanks! :D

This isn't where reviews go.

Sarida says:
See, what I would have done was asked for help on how to correct the issues I was having.

Having read the product information, scoured these message boards, and read all the reviews, I would know what my device does and doesn't do. If it wasn't doing the things I knew it could, I would ask for help.

If you aren't going to return it, why not give it to someone so they can enjoy it? Then that person can come on here and ask for help on the issues, and get great use out of a really fantastic device. (I own an iPad, btw. I bought the Fire for my mother because it DOES do all the things you say it cannot.)

I'm sure many charities could benefit from your gift.

Just Peachy says:
Others don't have this problem. Perhaps you should look for ways to use the product correctly and solve the problems.

Oh, and I am "not Amazon", so I will state that if I wish.

There are some settings you need to change, to fix the browser issues.

Do you want to know what they are?

I spent 8 months researching: Kindles, Sony Readers, IRiver Readers, Kobos, Nooks, E-reading in general, various e-book catalogs, and more, before buying my first Kindle-a Model 3 ('Keyboard'). It worked for me, I now have: a Keyboard, three Basics, two PaperWhites, and a Fire HDX. They all work well. I have no problems. I have an Apple iPad Mini for Production Work, and use the Kindles for what they are intended for...Media Consumption. I don't browse on the Kindles. For that, I use my notebook computer, which I have set up like a desktop, in a permanent location. It works as well as a desktop would, but takes up less of my limited space than a desktop computer would do. If you try to use a hammer to remove screws, you are going to encounter problems. Fit each tool to it's task, and you will have no problems. You-Owen-tried to drive nails with an egg beater. That would be YOUR fault, and in no way reflects upon the product used. The product is not to blame for your choosing it, or for you using it inappropriately.

Oh.. and as an owner of very generation of Kindle Fire and every generation of iPad, and someone who's main tablet is the latest 128GB 4G iPad Air... I can honestly say that your "review" is wrong, the issues you state are all user error, and .. well.. what I said in my prior post.
