Sock puppet. Even worse than honest self-promotion.

It's so great, but you didn't bother to write a review?

Shill.

I concur.

"Just to let you know this is NOT self promotion!"

The fact that OP included this line gives it away. If I was going to recommend a book to these folks, I'd simply have said, "Wow! I read the best book this weekend!"

I wouldn't go to the trouble to say, "Just to let you know this is NOT self promotion!"

Spam.

To be fair any time a book is suggested people always ask if this is self promotion. We don't know if that is the case here.

Okay, but I'm not feelin' it. ;0)

Gotta admit though, it does look quite interesting; and, I've long been a fan of Walker Texas Ranger. So, if you are a shill, sock puppet, spammer, well you got me this time. I did pre-order ... Worth a shot for 99 cents.

Bad job of shilling since I don't even see the name of the book.

I agree. You actually have to search for the authors name to find the book. Not sure what the big deal is here.

People here aren't "skeptical" of spam and self-promoters. People here are sick of spam and self-promoters. People here are sick of sock puppets and shills and, yes, even sick of "recommendations." There is a more appropropriate place for this, if it's as you claim. So long as it's posted here, so long as OPs vehemently deny that it's thinly-veiled spam, there will be a majority in this particular "community" who see through the bogus comments such as "Just to let you know this is NOT self promotion!"

The thing is, Mike, for example, who is the only one who bit, asked you a question to which you have not posted a legitimate answer. Why would you not post a review? Your line about "spoilers" is utter bullshit. Spoilers don't belong in any review and if you can talk up this tripe in a forum where it's not permitted and avoid spoilers, you can just as easily do it in MoA or in a review and NOT here where "community" members neither know you from Adam nor from the "author."

But, hey, thanks and have a happy Thanksgiving.

What does it matter??? The books title isn't even listed. If people are interested then they have to go look for it. Would you believe a review on a book that hasn't even been released yet?? My goodness people...

They were schilling this book under another screen name yesterday all over the place. Aunt Ammy deleted plug on Mystery Lovers Cafe.

Haven't these authors clued in that just posting a recommendation in this forum automatically get someone added to a number of Do Not Buy lists?

This is the same book that "A. Walker" has been spamming all over the forums for three days?

It won't even be released until Dec 18. What utter spam garbage.

Based on all the shilling and sockpuppetry in the reviews of the author's previous book, this probably won't be the last of these we see.

Bull chit, bull chit, bull chit. You are are the third 'non-spammer' SPAMMING this carp all over the forums. Lansing is either thick as two planks when it comes to self-promotion or is gonna be mighty pissed what you all are doing to his reputation.

Here's another numchuk who's inserted Lansing promo into reviews of five different books, including Vince Flynn's. Tomorrow when I'm bored out of my mind after a huge turkey dinner think I'll spend a little time to find some online contact info for Simon & Schuster and let them know what an a$$hat for an author they're supporting.

[But aside from that, Happy Thanksgiving to everybody else in the forum. :) ]
