C. S. Jones says:
Apple would have to create an android app first. You may be waiting for some time for that.

Actually, my entire itunes library has been uploaded to the Amazon Cloud, so I am expecting to be able to use my Kindle Fire to access that music.

But, I guess that isn't actually the answer to your question. I'm not expecting to be able to use itunes itself.

Jazzy_Jeff says:
You can convert your music to mp3 format and upload it to the cloud or onto the Fire itself. That would be the only way.

You don't have to convert your iTunes music to MP3. Fire supports other music formats, including the current iTunes music format.

So we've heard two different opinions. Will the Fire play itunes files or not? Has anyone actually tried it and knows that it works?

Kindle User says:
yes it will. u need to upload your itunes library to the amazon cloud player using the amazon mp3 uploader. it will find all music on your pc and allow u to choose which songs u want to upload (takes some time but simple to do), then those are available for you fire. only issues are how large your library is and if the 5gb cloud storage is enough or if you would want to upgrade $$. then just rotate the music on and off the fire to keep memory freed up.

So, Can you use itunes to download apps and music to the kindle fire? If not what do you use to download them? Are some apps free like the itunes? Do you have to pay for books on this?

I just bought a Kindle Fire HD and a bunch of Itunes gift cards..... will I be able to use the itunes gift cards to buy music or books or apps or did I just make a huge screw up?

Music would be the only item you could use on a non Apple device. Books can only be accessed by an i device and apps are for the Apple IOS operating system.

M. Ratcheson says:
Just to say, you can't even access iBooks from a Mac. They are only available to an iPhone or an iPad. I'm not exactly sure I understand *that business model, but then, I'm not nearly as successful as Apple, so they certainly know something I don't.

As JJ has said, if you either have iTunes set up to download your music as MP3 by default, or convert them, music you buy through iTunes should be playable on your Kindle HD. It used to be, music purchased through iTunes, weren't playable on anything other than an Apple device, but that's no longer true.

I'd suggest, if you want to experience your content on your Kindle Fire HD. or just about anything else other than an Apple device, you will be best off *not constraining yourself to the Apple ecosystem.

You can upload music from itunes on you computer(250 songs are free) into Amazon cloud. They will then be available to play from cloud or to download on your kindle Fire. Generally I find songs are less expensive from Amazon mp3 store and if you get them there you can download them into itunes if you need to.
