I'll be going off to college this fall, and I'm thinking about buying a new laptop. I'm looking for a laptop that can run games like Diablo 3 (system requirements: http://us.battle.net/support/en/article/diablo-iii-system-requirements) fairly well. Not necessarily at the recommended level though. I also will be using it for schoolwork (word processing, powerpoints, videos), downloading and listening to music, video chatting, and just surfing the web. Obviously, I want something that runs fast and efficiently and won't have too many problems. My budget is about $1,000 with shipping and handling, and I'd prefer a laptop that has at least a 15" screen. Thanks!

Mac Air: hands down! Apple is the only tech company where you pay a premium price and get WAY premium quality. It's beyond the specs such as RAM, processor speed, etc. If you get the basic entrance Mac Air, you can find out whether you need more storage, etc. The most basic Mac Air might be just fine.

The Macbook Air would be a HORRIBLE choice for what the OP is asking about. It's basically low end hardware for a mid range or high end price.

In what way is it "premium" quality? The reliability isn't better. The hardware isn't better. If the OP wants a Mac, they'd need a minimum of a 15" Macbook Pro for what they're wanting, not an Air, and you pay roughly a 2x price premium for them...you have to REALLY want OS X to make it worthwhile.

Sure...like ANY Macbook Air could POSSIBLY run Diablo 3 well. And didn't he also say "15-inch screen"?
Just because you're an Apple fanboy doesn't mean everyone should have one.

Well, the older 15" MBPs should be dropping in price so perhaps that may be a viable alternative for D..
But there will still be less expensive Windows options.
