I just purchased the Acer TimelineU M5-581TG-6666 15.6-inch Ultrabook: It was on sale last over the holiday season so I got it for $670.

I just found this other laptop deal for a Toshiba L855-S5383 PSKFUU-02X003 Notebook PC - and its only $600.

The Toshiba is cheaper and sounds more powerful however I can't find any customer reviews anywhere online. I bought this new laptop to have something powerful and fast that will last a few years. I want something that didn't just slow down after I downloaded anti-spyware and anti-virus software. Also I'd like to get into some online games like Guild Wars 2 and Bioshock. I haven't opened the Acer laptop yet so I'm wondering if I should return it and purchase the Toshiba? The only negative I see is that it's got Windows 8 as the OS which doesn't seem too popular with people. So.. do I keep the Acer or buy the Toshiba? I'm not too tech savvy so I don't really understand all the specs. I just see higher numbers and a lower price on that Toshiba.

I think you got a bang for your buck with the Acer. I wouldn't return it. The Toshiba "seems" faster but it's really not. Your looking at the ram, hard drive and the processor but the Acer is actually better and also thinner. It seems to be more portable than the Toshiba to me. Also the graphic card is a "Nvidia"..which means it can handle games very well..I don't know if your a gaming person or not.You also get alot more battery life with the is a "ultrabook." I think you would be making a HUGE mistake if you return your current Acer in for a Toshiba.I also read it has a backlit keyboard..that's another thing Toshiba doesn't have. I also heard Toshiba's customer service is really bad.You could always buy Windows 7 for the Toshiba laptop..but to buy windows 7 online is about 100 dollars or more...I'd stick with what I have.

I hate these sealed "ultrabooks", but yeah, that Acer has a decent GPU, and the Toshiba doesn't have a GPU. Personally I wouldn't get either of those, but the Acer would be better for games.

If I were you, I would buy Toshiba laptop because of its reliability. Yes, Toshiba laptops may be heavier than other brands' laptops, but Toshiba has 3 GB graphics cards and 12 GB RAM or larger for gaming laptops. Plus, the price is reasonable. Think about the pros and cons of each laptop and make your own decision.
