After 25 years, you don't get "the Madonna thing?" News Flash most if not all global celebrities (rock stars, actors, etc) are self absorbed. In order to achieve that amount of fame you would have to have some degree of it. I am sick of the whole Madonna is "old" thing. Ageism and Sexism is alive and well in the media. You don't hear any negative comments about Prince or Michael Jackson turning 50 this year. The fact is there is NO STAR with her track record or longevity. Elvis and The Beatles were not at the top of their game this long (I realize Elvis died and the Beatles broke up). Madonna obviously has true talent and has contributed MANY great songs to the Rock Era. Her body of work proves that she deserves her fame and questioning her relevancy after 25 years is ridiculous. There is no current entertainer on her level....just watch one her tours.

You don't get it??? Where you alive the last 25 years that she has been on top of her game??? What is there not to get??? 25years later and she is still kicking butt. She is a survivor and a Real artist. Her tours alone are works of genuis. You sound a bit bitter. A bit green.

Not everyone likes Madonna, but she should still be respected as an artist. Even if you don't like her style or art, it's hard to say she hasn't made an impact. In the 80's she was unstoppable. In the 90's, she was legendary. Now in the 2000's, even though her music hasn't been as great, she's still on everyone's mind. Not many artists have that distinction! She's meticulously made sure she's stayed in the public eye, so whether people love her or love to hate her, she's still creating a stir and getting publicity.

You don't get it, yet you obviously couldn't stop yourself from talking about her--maybe that's the point.
