~~~Before losing sanity~~~
"Where will we go next?" he asked his older brother.
"I don't know," Romanov tore at the white cloth with his bare hands.
He bawled it, reached up, and hurled the cloth across the street. The cloth was torn and dirtied by the wave of carriages and bikes that swam over it. Tverskaya ulitsa was booming with young folks trying to make the most of their nightlife. Romanov saw a crowd of friends passing by, all of them dressed in neat clothes, he wanted to be like them. A sweet-looking girl smiled at him through the descreet cover of her bamboo fan. He mouthed the words, "take me with you," but her reply was a small giggle.
"We should go back home," Kasiliev grabbed his brother's arms for comfort, "it's dangerous. What if mamulya's stories were right? What if somebody takes us?"
Romanov quietly hushed to his brother, "stay calm, sobrat. No one will take us."
Kasiliev was suspicious of the surroundings. Most of the buildings were covered in vibrant neon lights and digital billboards. A storefront for La Repubblica Draconizica advertised the latest gowns and imperial-style suits. The Moscow PSR tramcar slowly made it's passage down the busy street. Carriages and bikers hurried out of it's way as it came rolling through. It stopped at a busy building to pick up the crowd of commuters.
"Can we ride the tramcar?" asked Kasiliev.
"We don't have any money." Said Romanov.
He settled himself into a laying position and rested his head on his worn bag. Kasiliev remained sitting up, enjoying the questions and wonders his mind raised about Tverskaya.
His attention was drawn to a clique of noble boys exiting a popular bar. He read the sign, which was embellished in neon lights and a statue of a Wyvern.
"Drakon...Drakon Khitrosti..." he anxiously shook his brother's shoulders, "can we go in there?"
Romanov felt irritable from being woken from his slumber, "Go in where?"
Kasiliev pointed at the bar where the clique of boys were departing.
"I guess we can."
"YAY!" Kasiliev tightly hugged his brother.
Romanov grabbed his bag and said, "Well c'mon, let's hurry."
They ventured across the busy street. Carriages and bikers didn't stop for them so they tried their best to avoid getting hit and causing a potentially messy accident. The clique of boys noticed Kasiliev and Romanov walking onto their territory. The leader, an overly confident black-haired young man with a red peacoat and golden cane, walked up to them.
"Excuse me young man," he politely addressed Kasiliev.
Out of the blue, he whacked Kasiliev with his golden cane.
"What was that for?" shouted Romanov as he held his brother before he fell.
The peacoat boy spoke threateningly, "you have no business in Krasnyĭ Drakon territory."
"We were just exploring!" shouted Kasiliev.
A green-haired teen spoke out, "You boys do not unerstand. This is not a place for exploring!"
"What is it?" asked Romanov.
Kasiliev saw a red-head boy leaving the bar with a teenage girl. She had the appearance of a French girl straight out of the Tir'well bloodline. Romanov's attention had noticed the many boys departing and going inside the bar. They were all nobles, hardly any peasants wandered around.
Romanov came to one final realization, "you're all whores."
"Yes, yes," the peacoat boy spoke irritably, "we're whores but it pays for everything. If you want to walk around Tverskaya, you'll have to become one of us," he lowered himself to Kasiliev, smirking deviously, "and I doubt you'll live up to our rank."
The peacoat boy turned and departed with his fellows. Kasiliev and Romanov were speechless.
"I think we should get outta here." Said Romanov.
"I still want to go inside," said Kasiliev.
*Manulya is Russian for Mother
*Sobrat is Russian for brother (and so is "brat." Sobrat sounds better)
*Drakon Khitrosti is Russian for DRAGON WILES.
