I like your mom's philosophy, Doug!
But I also subscribe to that old maxim: Life is short. Eat dessert first.

Hello fellow spinnners, I am absolutely preening with pride at my newest review to THE FAT BAG stuck between a rock cake & a hard plaice. Here is part of it (it was very indepth)

"As I read it I could almost hear her British accent and read through it as if I were hearing her speak to me personally. Ms Barley's riveting honesty was not only inspiring; it was hilarious. Things I never dared think about my up and down weight were written in a way that made it all seem okay to say. I live this book as many of us over 50 women will admit. I doubt I'll ever take weight so seriously again. And yet, the painful comedy offers some good sense. First of all, it clearly defines addiction. The only difference between food addiction and any other addiction is, the monkey on our back is fatter. The horrendous undertaking to gain sobriety is no less difficult. But the book itself is a must have for those who feel alone in their perilous journey to thin. This book will not only make you laugh till you cry, it will change your emotions about what is and isn't beautiful".

I have been told that my book invokes emotion, it makes you laugh, cry and think, and this review more-or-less says it all. I am so very pleased with it.

By the way, for all those who know that I made a gluten-free lemon meringue pie on Saturday, for shame I ate the whole thing by Sunday afternoon. Delish...even if I do say so myself.

Anyone walking behind me can tell that I love to cook, grew up in the back of my grandmother's cafe, "Mom's Soul Food."
They would stand me on top of a chair at the age of five to stir the roux.
Good times and good food

Doctor Barbara,

Subways are good. I will have to try the Sonic when we can get near it. I love BLT's with extra crispy bacon.

Good morning, Spinners. I hope everyone is having a fabulous day.

I have reduced the price from $3.99 down to $2.99 for 3 of my books.
Desert Heat: What Happens in Vegas Stays in Vegas (Affairs of the Heart)
Cabin Fever: And the Flames Burned Higher (Affairs of the Heart)
No Lady and Her Tramp (Adult Romantic Comedy)

We are now in a full-blown heat wave in northern Nevada. Expecting it to be 102 for the next few days. To top that off, our water company had a water main break and we were without water for over a day. It's back on now but we are adviced to boil our water before drinking.

Good afternoon Kristie!!

Can I come stay with you? I love the heat. It is in the 80's here with no humidity. I'm glad you got your water back on. That stinks.

Thanks, Shirley...yes, the book is plugging along pretty well. But I am so ready to get back to writing something new (just need to get my head on straight to do it!!!).
