Souvenirs is a suspenseful mystery/romance of which Romantic Times says:
Barbara Phinney pens another winner! Souvenirs is a delightful blend of checkered pasts, trust issues and suspense. Though Anna struggles to find her independence, her faith is never shaken and her honesty makes up for the mistakes she makes. Meanwhile, Brent's inner demons are tragic, yet his willingness to help Anna proves that he has more compassion than he gives himself credit for.
The plot is quick-paced and the pages seem to fly by as Anna and Brent attempt to figure out who killed Anna's husband.
The author does an excellent job blending faith into a contemporary storyline while also keeping readers on their toes.
Review by Spencer A. Freeman
A delicious story of real characters, real love and a real killer. You won't want to walk on the beach alone.

No Man's Land

"...defies categorization...well written and impeccably isn't for the faint of heart or the weak of stomach. It pulls no punches."

Nothing is ever what it seems in Hollywood. A private investigator with a troubled past suspects that someone is trying to set him up. As he follows the bloody trail of evidence, he is led into a violent and unexpected No Man's Land.

No Man's Land: a brutal love story.

Don Victor Jerome has been labeled by the FBI the most powerful Crime Boss on the East Coast.
Midwesterner Sarah Duncan is newly engaged and working to make ends meet when she is kidnapped into White Slavery.

While crushing one of the other rebellious crime Families, Victor ends up saving a badly beaten Sarah an amnesiac 'outsider' and brought her into the heart of his very famiglia.

Two very different people who would never ordinarily meet become intricately entangled in each others lives and fates.

ANN SELF says:
The giant hayloft was breathing. A hollow soughing as air masses shifted and moved in the old barn. A Carpenter-Gothic barn notable for its vernacular architecture with steep gables and fanciful detail. Long-dead workmen had no intent to construct a building perfect for lurking and stalking.

Perfect for murder...

Romantic mystery/thriller series situated on a lavish, nineteenth-century estate in New England. The estate hides a few secrets from its past, including a stunning connection to history. A wealthy family has moved into the mansion. High-dollar showhorses now inhabit the big gothic barn, visited by their well heeled owners. A myriad of other characters come and go: a coach from the Spanish Riding School, an ex jockey from Kentucky, and just plain working stiffs who clean stalls and groom pricey horseflesh. Someone in this group is a little off, not quite right. Well on the path to becoming a killer.
Jane Husted works in the barn training showhorses, and is shocked when a man from her past shows up unexpectedly. A wealthy businessman, he's involved in the importing of European sport horses for the estate's breeding program.
When someone dies in a hideous `accident' in the barn, Jane eventually realizes the trap was meant for her, causing her to get in touch with a talent she didn't know she had. Extra-sensory-perception was standard equipment from birth, but it didn't blossom until she faced extreme terror and the threat of death. Psychic phenomena was not something she had believed in, until she needed it to save herself from a monster; a killer who hid in shadows in the cavernous barn, stalking the vast upper stories of a structure built when wood was cheap and nothing could be too big. Evil that planned to strike and kill again when the time was right.

SOMETHING MOST DEADLY , SOMETHING VERY GHOSTLY , and SOMETHING MOST EVIL . Over 100,000 words each book. Clean, long-term romance. Ebook or paperback.

The Depths of Deception (16 five-star reviews)

"Intelligent, compelling." "Hauntingly beautiful."

" of the most remarkable books I've ever had the pleasure of reading"

"Exceptional ALMOST Captures How Good this book is!"

America has disappeared some years ago. A neo-fascist Party has come to power in the UK. China is on the rise. A submarine hurtles through the cold dark waters of the Atlantic en route to an unknown destination. Only the ship's doctor knows its true mission, but he is not who he appears to be.

A sweeping tale moving from the violent heart of Apartheid South Africa, to the ruins of the United Kingdom, and down to the edge of the world in the frozen Antarctic landscape, The Depths of Deception is a tale of revenge, served as a shatteringly cold dish.

"An adventure tale on the order of LeCarre's The Spy Who Came in from the Cold..."

Alison Buck says:
A group of friends and their children travel to a newly re-opened hotel that lies a mile or so within the boundaries of a vast, ancient forest. Cut off by an unexpected and powerful early snowstorm they soon realise that the almost impenetrable forest surrounding them is hiding a dark, abiding malevolence.
And it is hunting them.
Battling the deep snow, poorly equipped and with no communication or hope of help from the world beyond the trees, the friends are thrown into a desperate and terrifying fight for survival.

A chilling horror thriller, but not a gore-fest.

The Screen Conspiracy $0.99

Review: 5.0 out of 5 stars Absolutely Excellent, 15 Jan 2012
It was a very fast moving and excellent story. I thought that the author covered some unpleasant aspects in the story without going into too much detail, which made it a more pleasant read for me personally.

Product Description:

Saber Hill, a colonial mansion close to post 911 Washington where nothing is what it seems. Not knowing that can cost you your life.

The Screen Conspiracy intertwines a range of sensitive social and political issues in a 330 page novel, encompassing all the hallmarks of a good murder, mystery and suspense thriller with strongly developed characters, each with their own unique story.

Jack Halpin, once an up and coming senior executive, is on a downward career and personal projectory. His beliefs and all the vestiges of his career and privileged family life are challenged as he is submerged in a dangerous world for which he is ill prepared. A member of the Fairfax Gun Club, Jack is a traditionalist who believes in the right to bear arms, law and order. He has a strained relationship with his wife Poppy, the daughter of respected Senator Jock Kessles, a man who is deeply disappointed in his unsuccessful son-in-law.

Unknown to Jack, the mysterious death of a senator is the signature tune to a traumatic change in his world and everything he has taken for granted. Surviving the onslaught of rapid, life or death challenges and the sinister forces facing him, will require all his resolve. This journey will bring him face to face with murder, political intrigue, depravity and betrayal.

The Screen Conspiracy is an intelligent thriller which uses fiction and an array of unique characters, to tease out a political conspiracy where evil, reality and patriotism overlap seamlessly. Strong characters, unexpected consequences, racy humor and a readable, escalating tempo combine to make this a novel that immerses the reader in the storyline and search for justice.

Copper's Bluff--A Quade Randal Suspense--$2.99

Quade Randal has been the sheriff of Hodges Creek, Indiana for the past four years, ever since his wife, Linda, was murdered. He used to be a Homicide Detective for Indianapolis, but tensions were high after his wife's death, and accusations were thrown against him. He needed a place to hide; to lay low until he hung his gun up for good, and Hodges Creek seemed to be the perfect place. He could sit back, relax and spend time with his daughter, Cassi. He was on easy street now, just waiting for his time to retire, but retirement would have to wait.

Genna Leslie is an undercover FBI agent sent to take the place of Cassi's teacher, Diane Howard, who later turns up dead. Genna's assignment: get close to Quade and uncover any evidence of his involvement in his wife's death. The man behind the assignment: Agent Lloyd Dennis, Linda's twin brother, who has not given up the search for his sister's killer. He believes Quade is the murderer and he won't stop until he gets his man.

Someone else has different plans for the sheriff, and they don't include the FBI, or Agent Dennis, but they do include Genna. A man from Quade's past is stalking the sheriff, murder on his mind. It's a coincidence Genna arrives at just the right moment. He puts his plan into motion, killing the women in Quade's life--beginning the torment that will follow the sheriff like a shadow, and Genna is the key to it all. Her love will make him vulnerable, and his vulnerability will be his demise. It is just a matter of time until the sheriff will be begging for mercy.

It's the last days of the Reagan Era. Central America is in turmoil and Nicaragua's Contras are being trained deep in the jungles of the Florida Panhandle. Far away from the press, far from the headlines.
Until an accidental encounter with a handful of people at a local creek creates an incident that leaves the civilians dead and government agencies scurrying to cover up the tragedy. Cover it up with a seamless story that hides only the tip of a much larger, and far more outrageous plan.
Seamless, that is, until a witness to the killings shows up.
This novel takes you back to those times, when a phone booth was the only way of staying in touch away from home, and where good people were caught up in an intrigue greater than any of them could imagine.

Time for something exciting. Below are the notices just put on site on kindle: a never before seen book.

Book #1 is approx 76,000 words and Book #2 is 95,000 words.

The Second Amendment #1
The Second Amendment #2

Read the book that publishers didn't want you to read!

At the height of my career with Penguin, between Past Imperfect and Ascension Day, I wrote a novel called 'The Second Amendment.' Too American a theme, said Penguin; too controversial, said US publishers. However, to my agent and numerous readers since, in terms of a hard-edged, no compromises, adrenalin-rush thrill ride, it was my best book.

Too controversial? We should recall that pre-911, the Oklahoma bombing was the biggest terrorist attacks to take place on US soil; and the NRA continues to be one of the most powerful lobby groups.

In the ten years since first writing The Second Amendment, there have been over 200,000 gun deaths in the USA, from simple domestic or street arguments to drive-by shootings or Columbine-style school massacres. It remains an enigma of US society that there isn't as strong a voice for them as for the groups keen to preserve guns; which is no doubt why, still ten years on, gun control remains one of the hottest debates in US society and beyond.

One simple thesis.
But it threatens the very
roots of the Constitution.
There's too much at stake.

20,000 gun deaths a year, schoolyard massacres, and now a wave of militia bombings... America is under siege.

At the heart of the storm is Josette Horvath, the FBI counter-terrorist agent whose world is torn apart when her young son, Daniel, falls victim to a militia bomb. Her brother Bernard's latest political studies thesis meanwhile focuses on the thorny issue suddenly foremost with the President and an outraged America: stricter gun control.

But Bernard doesn't appreciate just how momentous and far-reaching his thesis is destined to become. And as Josette, torn between tracking the bombers and coping with her son's fate, discovers the extent to which the far right have infiltrated the FBI and the White House - she realizes this is one final battle she can't possibly win.

An explosive, uncompromising thriller which confronts head-on one of the most fiery issues of the past two decades: gun control.

If Vince Flynn and John Grisham got together to tackle probably the most controversial issue of the past two decades - Gun Control - this is what they might come up with. Hair-trigger suspense all the way. Electrifying.
Crime Ink

The FBI and Capitol Hill go head-on against the far-right and self-appointed militias in this no-holds-barred thriller. Amongst all the bullets and mayhem, the thorny issue of gun control is also handled sensitively - but don't expect much time to draw breath between the two. A 'loaded' issue in more ways than one.
Books, etc.

A novelist of real accomplishment.

Pursuit Tia Sharmez raced along the alleyway, nervously glancing back to see if her pursuers were gaining ground.
