ROCK (A SHORT STORY)
A 2334-Word Short Story

War is hell...but so is the homefront. How can a man whose life is saved in the war not acknowledge the man who saved him? "Rock" is a 2334-word short story about a colored World War I veteran who saves a whole white infantry unit. Hezekiah Bennett--nicknamed Rock in the War because he had a head shaped like a rock, all lumpy and dented--is a war hero. But Rock doesn't receive a hero's welcome when he returns to the homefront at War's end.

My young adult novel will be free through the 29th. Here's a quick description:

From a young age Max Werner used his unique ability to see in the dark for the disgraceful purpose of stealing from friends and neighbors. When his sister Jenny begins to blackmail him with her discovery of the thefts, however, his life begins to spiral out of control. Before her new life of crime can even get started she is kidnapped by a mysterious group of criminals looking to scare Max away. With the help of his courageous best friend Tom, Max must enter a world where even his perfect night vision may not be enough to rescue Jenny and bring them all back out alive.

This selective history brings the legendary Max Werner back into the modern zeitgeist with a fresh retelling of the first, and most famous, of all the Max Werner adventures.

It's supposed to be exciting and funny. Hopefully you agree!

A Selective History of Max Werner

I have two SciFi Short Stories Free Dec. 31st and Jan. 1st:

The Red Sphere
What happens to young men who must have sex with a woman at least once a year, or they spontaneously explode? Jonnie Grip learns the hard way. From the author of Bleedover comes a short story that'll make you cringe and wish to never, ever, end up in the Red Sphere.

The Kafka Harrier
In the future, being rude is a punishable offense, and one exacted in public. When the Kakfa Harrier arrives to exact punishment, Mr. Alex Reed's day goes from bad to worse.
"The Kafka Harrier" showcases a blend of violence, suspense, and social critique, making this clever short story a must-read for all.

Free on Smashwords - Nobody's Perfect (Contemporary romance)

For Jenna Lansing, meeting the star of her favorite TV drama was a strange fluke, as well as a thrill. When Kinsey Sutton tells her he'd like to continue seeing her, that was icing on the cake. But there's one big problem with this budding relationship: geography.

He's west coast, she's east coast. Spending time together is no easy task. And lesser problems are myriad: he's an LA actor with a crazy schedule, she's a suburban soccer-mom who keeps regular family hours. Not to mention the difference in their love lives... One's a Hollywood player and other a divorced single mother--a recipe for certain disaster. What's the likelihood of this mismatched pair having a "happily ever after"? Their feelings for each other are not the issue. It's everything else that threatens to get in the way.

** Going back to regular price (outrageous price of $0.99!!!) no later than Jan 3. **

This short story collection begins with an attempt by the Ladies of Eternal Salvation and Temperance to see to it, that Jimmy Joe Preston gets baptized. Jimmy has other plans, though. Spared, A Silent Peace, Fresh Fish, and more will give the reader some insight into my style of writing.

Affairs of the Heart
Two love stories, two affairs of the heart in one book. In them lives all passion I have for history and adventures, time-traveling and thrillers, mysteries and great love.
In "A Love In Time of War" first they faced the war... the love followed later. Peace was somewhere in between. One day he could have killed her on the other side of the front, on the next day he fell in love and what would happen in the day after it? All efforts to remain enemies appeared to be in vain. The borderline between their ability to hate or to love appeared a thin one.
The war became past, the past became history and through the years only love is still alive in a very beautiful tale to remember.
In "The Last Secrets of The Ancient Island" series of mishaps in an old town casts suspicion on a number of residents, provoking changes in an adopted practice of the underground world of relics. Ralph, a young graduate of a university proves the last mysteries of ancient National Park sites are yet unexplored by historians and archaeologists and discovers the personal secret of his older brother Michael. An unknown driver has a tragic motivation to take his life and that of another.
We were born alone, we die alone, but life is our chance to live in love. If we don't lose the chance, if know why love is the most desired legend in our life.
