The Dream Time: An Account of a Ninth Grade Girl of the 60s

My memoir has sold 10 copies so far, despite its good reviews from 6 of those people.

Journeys of the Heart I recently published my own childhood memoir which focuses on child abuse in my life and the obstacles I have overcome to get to this point today in my life. I wanted to share my story and let others know it truly isn't their fault. In my book I talk about my earliest memories of my grandma, child abuse, the death of my father and so on. It truly has been a great healing process! I hope you will check it out!

Well done to you. I wont read it, as the reviews says it is rather graphic and as a survivor myself, I fear I would be triggered. I know I struggled to not get so graphic when I put my own memoir out. But kudos to you.

With everything in the news today about child molesters, the Jerry Sandusky trial and the ongoing scandals within the Catholic Church, I've recently gotten a book published that you might find very topical. It will help anyone who's interested to understand how this kind of thing continues to happen. It will also give you insight into the affect this type of abuse has on someone that young. It's called "Unraveling Charlie"
If you are interested please go to my website where you can read some sample chapters.

Thank you all for your insights and suggestions. I've learned a lot in this, my first effort in publishing. I'm the author of "Newlywed Widow".
Please feel free to take a look.
All the best, Beverly Short

Your memoir must be great to sell so many. Besides good material, do you have any tips for fellow memoir writers. My title is Dreams of America, on Kindle.

I see that Elke Hawthorne also asked about your marketing techniques. Thanks in advance.

Unintended Consequences - Lessons from a Life Almost Lost
One of my favorite memoirs is Bill Shaner's "Unintended Consequences Lessons from a Life Almost Lost". It's part memoir and part tale of the spiritual lessons learned after a tragic accident that resulted in a near death experience and temporarily left a 31 year old man a paraplegic. Bill takes you through the harrowing ordeal and its aftermath, showing how even seemingly devastating events can ultimately yield invaluable blessings if you persevere and maintain your faith.

Backwards Through the Looking Glass by Alveg Spaug. Funny, witty, sarcastic and sanely politically incorrect. thoroughly enjoed it. Just brilliant

Hi Elke,
This was a good place to tell us the name of your book. Every time you write something or somewhere use the title of your book. Do you have a blog, a face page, a twitter account? You have to promote it yourself. This is my book for sale on Kindle. You can do the same.

Unveiled Emotions by K. O. Samuels is a brand new book with a new slant on memoirs.
I personally loved the book and learned how important it is to tune into my inner guidance system.
It's definitely made a difference in the way I operate on a daily basis.

This sounds very interesting - I'll look into, when did you publish it?

In reply to an earlier post on Jul 18, 2011 2:18:22 PM PDT
When I go into http://amazon.com, put in the title of my book - it brings up the title page and when I scroll down it tells me which place my book is on the bestseller list - 2 million + and I know from the royalty checks that it's not selling. Don't know how to get the word out that it exist?
