I have to tell anyone interested...my book, Six Weeks with Shelby.. Six Weeks with Shelby
is very good read. I am yet to have anyone not like it. My best suggestion is to go read the reviews it has gotten and see for yourself. It has it all...age gap, excitement, romance, and some of the best travel photos anywhere, not to mention, Shelby. Jon Barry

What Happened to Suzy

If you love reading memoirs, thank you for reading What Happened to Suzy, by Carol Denise Mitchell. On September, 1, 2011, it received one of Readers Favorite book awards. The story chronicles the life of a girl who had difficulty getting love in or out of the home. It's a story of courage and survival. I know you'll love it.

What Happened to Suzy
I'd like to thank memoir readers in advance for checking out my memoir, What Happened to Suzy. It faced tough competition in Readers Favorite 2011 Book Awards. I am thankful to announce that I did win an award. I wrote this book to teach abused children the early signs of abuse. The recovery process is never ending; but hope is everlasting. Enjoy.

Karen, you are so right. Brenda Ueland's book reads like words from a kindly neighbor--one who knows something about writing. My first writing teacher recommended the book to me, and when I needed encouragement while writing my memoir Holy Ghost Girl: A Memoir, this was the book I picked up. It's a treasure.

ACT III

By Richard Romanus. This memoir is about how he picked up and left his Hollywood life to settle on a small Greek island in the Aegean. Great book, great sense of humor..... highly recomended

If you like dogs and have a sense of humour you can't go far wrong with Ted wright's two books about his life as a police dog handler. Fast paced, humorous andsome of the work of this very experinced handler is born out by official reports. "One Dog and Her Man-The life of Police Dog Bess and the sequel "Bomb Dog Mitch-Another Box of Dogs". Enjoy!

Hello all! You might consider my memoir, Journey to One. Intricately woven and full of prose, it tells of my growing up in a small town as a Jehovah's Witness, struggling with suicidal depression as a young adult, and the passage from darkness and despair to vibrant health. It follows as I embark on a path of self-discovery -- a journey from the therapist's couch, to the sacred Toltec pyramids in Mexico, to the realm of quantum physics, to the yoga mat, and beyond. Those who have read it so far have found it compelling, inspiring and powerful, and I hope you do as well!

Journey to One is the story of my beginnings, and I hope it provides an example of how we can sometimes have difficult times in life and still live our dreams! I'm currently working on my next book.

~ K

ACT III by Richard Romanus. He played "Michael" in Martin Scorcese's classic film 'Mean Streets' and produced 'Giving Up the Ghost' in 1998 and 'If You Believe' in 1999. He lives in Skiathos since the end of 2011.

If you're interested in reading a memoir about a subject you've never experienced before try mine, Ocean Lifeguard: Reflections from a Son of the Beach. Atlantic City, 1967, exciting rescues, beautiful women, heartbreaking romance, unparalleled nite life, beach characters galore and side slitting humor. A memoir that reads like a novel.

Yes. I'm a freelance writer and editor and I've just published my memoir. It the inspirational story of a little girl struggling to rise above appalling living conditions, poverty, violence and abuse. (Published by Pulse Publishing).

If you'd like to read it, it's on Amazon and is called Sunday's Child (written by Anne Lyken-Garner). I would leave the link, but I'm afraid Amazon will delete my comment because of it.

why not try memories of a mental nurse...it's a really good read and in some instances quite amusing, though it can bring on the need for a handkerchief too

I can recommend "Amelia's story" and the sequel "Amelia's Destiny" by D.G. Torrens this is a true story, a very tragic story, although it's one of inspiration, and how dreams can come true no matter what obstacles are placed in your path!!!
