*****bumping this thread******

For all the people that have listened to 13, care to rank it? I am bumping this thread from a while back and will add my addition of 13 into my list otherwise leaving the original post untampered with*******end edit************

Since there are currently and IRON MAIDEN and JUDAS PRIEST favorite album thread I thought I would just create this incredibly original topic, ha...But no really, because alot of people went out of their way to list ALL of their favorite albums by those bands in order I got really curious to see how people would do Black Sabbath since there are so many different phases to this bands catalog...go in as little or much depth as you would like...but I am mostly curious to see not only how many people like albums stretching beyond the Dio years...but especially where they rate them within the overall collective of Black Sabbath discs...I'll start.

Master of Reality
Volume 4
Mob Rules
Sabbath Bloody Sabbath
Heaven & Hell
Born Again
Black Sabbath
Headless Cross
Cross Purposes
Seventh Star
The Eternal Idol
Technical Ecstasy
Never Say Die

Best Album Cover goes to "Greatest Hits".....alot ov Bedroom BM could take a lesson from that one.....

I like Tyr, and I don't feel like there is anything overtly weak on the album...but at the same time I don't feel like it blows me away just feels like a solid recording to something like Eternal Idol, or Never Say Die!...I could never listen to that crap again and be happy...

When it comes to Vol.4 I much prefer songs like "Under The Sun", "Wheels of Confusion", "Supernaut"...but I still really like "Snowblind"...Changes, "FX" is the one two punch low point of the first six classic albums with Ozzy...

Posted on Mar 30, 2011 4:04:06 PM PDT
I dig on "FX" and "Changes"......but I`ve also been known to listen to Sunn 0))) and Tori Amos for hours on end.....

"Supernaut" by 1000 Homo Djs is like the best Sabbath Cover Song ov all the way.....

Type O Negative's "Paranoid" CRUSHES... the original.

Posted on Mar 30, 2011 4:06:05 PM PDT
Sleep's version of the aforementioned Snowblind is one of my faves...but my all time favorite Black Sabbath cover goes to Ulver for their magnificent rendition of "Solitude"

"Symptom of the Universe" by Sepultura would be high on my list too....just crushing....that band can do no wrong when it comes to covers.....

I KNEW it had to be a mistake...that album is beyond Medieval sounding.....just raw and carriage drawn....heh...

D. Mok says:
> Tyr is a Norse God, son of Odin i believe.

Tyr was the Norse God of justice. He had his right hand bitten off by the wolf Fenrir (the wolf monster destined to kill Odin at Ragnarok) to trick the wolf into letting Tyr put a magic ribbon around him and bind him.
