I'm sure nobody here likes any of those bands....

Gee ya think?? Dude, why do you bother to post here anyway? You've admitted that you don't really like metal that much or hardly at all even so then why are you even hanging around here? As you are obviously already well aware, NO! of course we don't like any of those 'bands' and furthermore we don't like to have to wade throguh posts or worse even, entire threads made by people who do like any of those 'bands'. Don't they have a Poseur Forum here on amazon or somewhere more appropriate that you could hook up with other like-minded fairies to share info and compare crushes on your sissy little hearthrob teenage boy bands? I bet if you tried, you could even find some of your wussie buddies irl to talk about this garbage with, so why do you feel the need to intermittently show up here uninvited to pester us with it??

Usually, this is how it works: occasionally poseurs will wander in here by mistake from time to time and make a few posts about their awful metalcore or nu-metal bands, like that 30 year old guy who said he was posting on his mommy's account a month or two ago who was into Disturbed and Slipknot and whathaveyou, or that confused chick who made the 'Why so much Metalcore hate?' thread, that said she liked 5FDP a week or two ago. They make a few posts and read through a few threads here, and then what normally happens is that they soon realize that they're in the wrong place, so they quietly slip out the door and we never hear from them again. The other alternative would be that they could learn about, listen to some, and start to appreciate some actual metal, and become a contributor here, but I don't think I've seen that happen yet. Except for Surge, he lurked here for awhile and read the board, got his feet wet and made a few posts, and now he's a metalhead. But he's the excepton, not the rule.

So either get with the metal program here, or gtfo. If you want to hang around and read, I can't stop you, but when you feel your fingers typing band names like Bring Me the Horizon or Black Tide, or All That Remains, just take a minute to think about what you're doing and then click the cancel button, that's the white one on the right, NOT the yellow post button to the left. No one here wants to read that crap and if they do, well then we really don't need or want them posting here either, so if you could take them with you that'd be great. So bye-bye, Happy Thanksgiving, and have a nice life poseur, and don't let the door hit you...as they say.

Just drove a little under three hours from suburbs of Chicago to Madison, WI for headling Cannibal Corpse, Dying Fetus, Vital Remains, and Devourment. Extremely badass, heard Devourment play Babykiller, Choking on Bile, that was kickass...Vital Remains never dissapoint(still waiting for them to play old material). I gotta say that Dying Fetus set was cool as hell!!! Their Descend Into Depravity tracks sound sick live!!! I was slammin and havin a great f@#$%n time!!!! Needless to say Cannibal Corpse was awesome, as it was my twelveth time seeing them live!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

They played Shatter Their Bones, The Time To Kill Is Now...I believe I enjoyed those two the most, well Unleashing the Bloodthirsty is always the s@#$t to see live...But man, George was like spitting the lyrics to Time to Kill is Now...IT WAS AWESOME!!!!!! And I think Shater Their Bones is my favorite track off Evisceration Plague so hearing RAVENOUS SAVAGES, WILL TEAR YOU APART...THEY'LL EAT YOUR F@#$%NG GUTS AND YOUR BRAINS!!!!!!! was incredibly badass.....can't wait for their next tour for a NEW ALBUM!!!!!!

I saw Vader and Immolation October 28th and was just blown away by those performances..absolutely incredible!!! Then the very next day at the same venue I saw NEVERMORE!!!!!!! IT WAS KILLER!!!!!! He played TASTE REVENGE, Sanctuary from Into the Mirror Black....very cool!!! Back in September I saw Iced Earth with Matt Barlow and that was one of the best concerts I have ever seen in my life!! All due respect to Warrel Dane, Matt Barlow blew him away with the singing!!!!!!!! I wish Iced Earth toured EVERY SINGLE YEAR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

There's always MDF next year mitch, why don't you come down with us? There must be at least a few bands playing that you're into. Nuclear Assault? Hail of Bullets? Destroyer 666? Acid Witch? Funebrarum? Coroner? Voivod? Exhorder? Dead Congregation? Goatsnake? Orange Goblin? Inquisition? Innumerable Forms? Neurosis?

My last show was...*ahem* Combichrist.
The (first, the second one was complete toss) opening band iVardensphere was pretty cool too.

Before that was Keelhaul (ehh) and Russian Circles though, so it makes up for it.

Sorry, Kevin was influencing me a bit.

" So bye-bye, Happy Thanksgiving, and have a nice life poseur"

Must be that vomit inducing east coast charm of yours;)

Who cares if the kid wants to post here? Dont get me wrong I have had a few good times at RepulsiveX's expense, but the kid clearly loves music, so who cares if you like it or not? The kid never seems to respond to anyone's slams, so I guess that makes him an easy target, but if he can get past you, he can deal with just about anybody on here.

If the idea here is truly to "save real metal from poseur metal" Then why dont you try to turn the kid on to some "real metal" and if that doesnt fix him, them then throw him to the wolves.

I see alot of Burbs in you! Whine and cry about how "poseur metal" is taking over, yet I never see either of you trying help someone like RepulsiveX discover "real metal" instead you just make fun of him.

I can understand why RepulsiveX has no intention of getting into "real metal" maybe he is afraid he is going to grow up to be like you:)

I remember this HUGE moron named Klint, who came around here in Feb. implying that Deathcore is Heavier than Deathmetal. I only remember 2 people coming to him with "real metal" rec's and trying to bring him back from the dark side. Everyone else just wanted to fight with him. After Defcon 1(thanks Ian;) and a banning, this moron wormed his way back and managed to discover some great stuff, alot of which came from you(unintentionally). And while he may not be a huge hit with the likes of you, Burbs, and Mandy, and he will never be welcomed on the "take my ball and go home" alt. forum, he has managed to make a great circle of friends, and his musical taste is more sophisticated now than it ever has been before. His attitude towards Deathcore has done a complete 180.

I guess the point I am trying to make is, try and help RepulsiveX first, and if he doesnt play along, THEN make fun of him:)

While I agree with this in theory, its not always that easy in practice. Many times there's an initial thought of something like "oh brother, not another one". So your first instinct is to get into it with them. I think it also depends on the approach. The lady asking about metalcore dosn't bother me because that's a legitimate question a lot of newbies have. Most of them dont know where to go for information about extreme metal, so they're stuck with what they can find in the chain stores. Asking questions is fine, running on about how you like a bunch of Death/metalcore bands will likely bring out the mockery
As for EpsilonX, he's not a new poster. While he may not contribute much as far as posting, he has been on this board long enough to know which way the wind blows around here. If he's interested in finding new music, well it's not as though there aren't a 100 different posts listing metal bands to try. Remember people, metal archives is your best friend when you're looking into new bands

Posted on Nov 22, 2010 6:10:23 PM PST
I'm not trying to save metal from anything. (That's the dumbest thing I've heard in awhile, what does that even mean??) I'm merely trying to save myself from reading garbage, that's all. The kid EpilogueX has come right out and said that he doesn't really like metal that much. Those are his words, I'm not making that up. If he doesn't like metal, then he should stop posting drivel on the metal forum. Go post drivel on the metalcore forum. We have enough azzhats here already! Sorta like when that weird semi-suicidal girl hung out here for a few weeks last year, the one who said she loved Davey from AFI. I don't have anything against either one of these kids personally, but if you're really just not into metal then either come and just read and keep quiet, or just go away. Or just post on the non musical threads.

He's not looking to learn about metal Surge, that's my problem with him posting drivel here. He's like that weird kid in school that doesn't know which table to sit at in the lunch room, so he keeps trying different tables hoping that maybe some group of kids will let him sit at their table with them. So we let him sit here, but if he starts picking his nose and eating it while I'm trying to eat my turkey sandwhich one more time I'm gonna go off on him and tell him to get lost.

The whole point of having a metal forum is to be able to locate and communicate with other people who have similar interests. It's not like the streets are teeming with metalheads, and my wife doesn't really want to listen to and discuss the new Inquisition or the new Black Witchery albums with me after dinner, she wants to talk about how her boss is an ungrateful idiot, and Thursday's Thansgiving plans, and if I can remember where she put those light bulbs that fit in the ceiling fan.

Now I don't care if you like the exact same kinds of metal as me, I enjoy that everyone here has somewhat different tastes in metal and we can share them with each other, and maybe learn something, as long as it's some type of actual decent music. I can appreciate the fact that some things can be good even if I don't like them. But if all you can bring to the table is Bring Me the Horizon, then you need to be told to shut up and learn or to just get out. And I shouldn't be the only one telling him that.

My argument was killed by Surge with 1 post.....thanx buddy;P

EDIT: I still stand firmly behind the RepulsiveX nick name. He seems like a nice enough kid, he's just trying WAY too hard.

Anytime man..anytime

"He's not looking to learn about metal Surge"

Sorry brother..should have made my point more clearly. I agree with you, he's been around this board long enough that if he had any interest in learning anything he would have by now. There's more than enough threads on here for him to have found some bands if he took the time and had the inclination to do so
