F. E. Green says:
When I did my internship in the ICU there were propofol bottles hanging in almost every room because it is frequently used for ventilator patients to keep them sedated so as not to pull out their breathing tubes. I hung some myself under nurse supervision--it made me nervous watching it move through the tubing into the vein.

The nurses would tell me how the patients families would look wide eyed when they came to visit and see propofol there. They would always be asking the staff about its safety because it killed Michael Jackson. The nurses would make negative comments about MJ using this and now making people fearful. I tried gently (I'm the student you know, have to be careful not to step on toes) to remind them that he had entrused his doctor to monitor him but he failed to do so and that is what killed him.

Don't know if I got any converts but at least I planted the seed.

Give it a rest PT... I know you hate Christians.. but whatever. Funny how an atheist thinks he is qualified to debate biblical principles.

I'm sure you would feel the same as I do if your wife or children were the victims of these monsters. I'm sure you wouldn't be extending an olive branch and hoping they be put down gently.

Hi Passin-Thru..
if I may politely say something here, I agree with you on several points.. absolutely.. and I really love the specific articulation of your point.. I admire those that are able to do that.
I understand both sides here and the thing about christianity is, everyone is on different levels and places in their understanding. It takes time and meditation for the Word to change a person. It really does. We in ourselves are made of flesh, in the carnal nature as they say, and do not always respond appropriately in "christian manner" because of this. We are all creatures of a fallen world and hence the need for a God. :)

F.E. Green says,

"In my perfect world rapists would lose their 'weapons' and murderers would be killed in the same fashion as their victims. 'An eye for an eye'...."

What a vision for a perfect world.

F.E., you are a nurse whose duty is to heal people. One day, I predict, you'll find yourself working at a prison where you will have to attend to criminals of the worst kind: murderers, rapists, etc. Despite your evident hatred, you'll come to find that these people are, after all, human.

"An eye for an eye makes the whole world blind." So said Gandhi.

After having taken their freedom, destroyed relations with family and friend, stripped them financially through legal cost and have them suffer what some consider just punishment; what would you do or could you say to the people on this list.

Passin Thru,
"..except when trying to sleep with a baby in the house"
Sooo true haha. My sister is 6 mos. pregnant with her first. She lives in Canada and I hopefully will be going to see her soon as I am down in Fla :(

And what you said about the mind..
"Silence only perpetuates ills, it imprisons the mind "

Absolutely.. I abhore ignaorance as well, as it is that and not ideas themselves, which create dissention and disrupt health discourse.

It's what I feel had a lot to do with Michael's fragile experience in this life. Not being able to have that consistent communion and connection with many .. it is isolating, producing superfluous ailements. And i feel for him so.

As far as leaders of christianity I must say that Jesus himself did not agree with the pharasees of his time. Pride goeth before a fall they say, and multiple people end up paying for it. Even in reputation of faith.

So I do not look to them but to him.

F. E. Green says:
Uh, no NYFon. I will never HAVE to work at a prison. Just like I will never HAVE to work at a woman's health clinic where I will be forced to tell women that killing their baby is an option or hand a condom to a teenager instead of telling them to keep the knees closed and zippers zipped. I just wonder how 'human' you think some of these monsters would be if they raped and slashed up your child, grandchild, sister, friend, lover...whoever. Personally, I would want to be the one that pulled the switch if it was my loved one.

Nurses can choose where they want to work. That is what is so nice about the field of nursing--you have so many opportunities to choose. You are only correct however that I will have to treat each patient that comes through a med/surg, ER, or ICU unit with compassion because of the nature of the oaths I took on pinning. However, it does not mean that I can't have my personal feelings about low life murderers. In fact, you would be surprised at the 'gallows' talk that happens behind the nurses station with regard to frequent flyers to the ER for the same OD or drinking binge. I was shocked by the lack of compassion behind the scenes. Incidentally, in many clinical rotations I met many a heroin addict who were some of the nicest patients. While I loathed their lifestyle generally, I liked many of the patients on a personal level. Believe it or not, it is easy in a face to face setting to be compassionate and non-judgmental---at least at the moment.

My favorite was a lesbian heroin and cocaine addict who had freebased that morning and was there for her 5th detox admission. The other nurses ignored her but I listened to her story of how her live in lesbian lover was abusing her and how she had a teenage boy who was living with her father who wouldn't let her see him until she stopped the drugs and being a lesbian. Talk about God having a sense of humor and testing my sensitivities. It was surely a baptism by fire.

Are you aware that several nurses refused to care for Richard Speck (the student nurse murderer) when he was in a hospital once? Right or wrong, nurses are not always made of sugar and spice and everything nice. Certainly not some of the older nurses that I have encountered.

Guys its crazy like yal are saying.....hot mess...also I thought propfol did hurt MJ. I remember watching the trial and they said he could have been saved if Conrad was simply there to lift his chin up for breath. MJ suffocated too I thought. And they said there was no way for MJ to administer that much that was in his body caz it would have been to painful! Gosh I hate Murray! I try to calm myself down and say maybe he didn't do it and while he left some killer came in the room and finished the job. I still think its crazy that they had a lost tape and a extra unidentified finger print!

I'm glad to hear it, F.E. Green.

I want you and everybody to know what is below:
I am so upset with this!! I am Brazilian and believe me all these are lies .
Here is a link in Portuguese (unhappily) this is about a film on xuxa and her pedophile love with an eight-year-old boy.

http://br.answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20100509062502AAr00td

She loved children ah ah do not believe this. This woman was vain and dangerous, and a fake. She taught girls to act like her, that is, to think only about clothes, fashion and everything related to that, but at a very young age. The way she used her words was perverting. And that was not all. Children learned to be disobedient, vain, rebels, futile and so on. She was a very bad example. During a very long time all that was talked about was that she had a lover named Marlene. Yes, a woman. She did not do what Michael did to children. If what she said about Michael, is true, how come she did not say anything about it all these years? Why? If anything like that had happened she would have publicized it in the four winds. She would make a secret? Donīt make me laugh. She would have put it in the news. Her photo with Michael is a photoshop. That never happened. Michael never asked her to marry him.I donīt think he even ever met her. Michael was here in São Paulo in 1993 and I have the Globo story in video (Globo news) and xuxa was never mentioned. Michael was here again in 1996 in Bahia and Rio to make the "They donīt care about us" and never, ever xuxa was mentioned. I think this would be absolutely news to him. She is as famous as Michael???! She wishes. She canīt dance, she canīt sing, she canīt act. She doesnīt speak English. She is a fake. Michael got his popularity due to his talent. xuxa ( I donīt use capital letters to write her name!) got hers, not the same way. Michael loved talent. She had none.
I want everybody to know about these lies. As usual Michael is being a victim of his fame.
But 20 years later? What is this all about? What does this woman have in mind?
