Passin, I agree there should be respect for everyone's opinion whether we agree or not, without calling names. I try to treat all with respect and dignity because that's how I want to be treated. I admit sometimes it's difficult when not given the same respect.

The outstanding bill seems much smaller than what the actual bill probably was in full. A team of lawyers holed up in a condo working night and day for months is insanely expensive. How do we know his financial team didn't negotiate a payment plan agreeable to both sides and it was being chipped away and then they put it all on hold after his death?

Thank you, Nikki. This unpaid debt to T-Mes bothered me also but this was a huge step in helping me understand what very well may have happened. I'm sure Michael's legal bills for that trial were in the $millions. I'm not naive about Michael's faults but there's so much about his life that none of us will ever know or understand. It doesn't make me love him any less...

It takes a very cold and petty heart to sit here on a discussion board and make wild assumptions that Tom Mez needs to be defended against Michael, that Michael deliberately bilked him out of what was owed to him, that he was ungrateful for all that Tom did for him, that he preferred instead to spend lavishly while purposely and willfully thumbing his nose at the man who "saved his life". Do you really think that little of Michael, and justify your outrageous judgements by calling those who don't agree "idol worshippers"?

Thank you, Nikki, for this whole post! I agree with every word and your accounting! That discussion was starting to turn my stomach. Discussing possibilities to try to understand Michael and his life is hardly "idol worship." I thought that's why we are here...

Thanks passin. I prefer to know the whole story before passing any judgment on a situation. I give Michael the benefit of the doubt in some situations because I don't know how things came about or what happened. I would like to think that I would do the same for anyone that I care about and/or they would do the same for me. I also don't like to harp on his flaws or his mistakes because I too have made my share and wouldn't like anyone doing the same towards me.

Yes Yana we all have erred, but I like to think that we have learned from them, I have, and I see a difference, a transformation in you.

Michael is an interesting study, I mean a person worthy of understanding, knowing etc, not because of his genius, but rather why and how he dealt with us( us being everyone outside of his family).
Was he eccentric, of course but so are many of us, and perhaps even more so in the arts, for I believe their minds differ from ours.
They have something we don't, they create, most of us just take space and get by.
My problem was the veil put over him here, as if he were perfect.
Now little by little there is understanding that he was also a man, and as such, capable of error.
The people I love is not despite their faults but rather due in part, because of them.
So it is with Michael, for if there was/is innocence certainly his mind, when not at work, was childlike I think. His escape, children and animals, innocence once again.

The man inside, the boy perhaps, interests me, and yet the mystery and secrets if any, will probably remain unknown.
Some here search too, and are vilified for it.
I think any question ( save a couple) are complements, we all appreciate Michael, but why do we fight over morsels of information and or beliefs.
We are on the same side, yet enemies herein, it makes no sense.
Those that declare utmost fealty are the least like Michael, those that proclaim love, hate readily.
It's confusing, a whirlwind, and only sometimes does some scrap of info fall upon us.
Almost every acquaintance is attacked, his women friends insulted, and the compassion he had is missing here.
I guess what it comes down to is the degree of nastiness, the degree of scorn, the lack of civility, and the quickness with which people judge each other here, and the horrific names, the prejudices and the
religious intolerance and even political bitterness.
Truth is we don't have to judge here, we just need to respect our differences.
America is taking an express route in the wrong direction, I hope your land is not following us, for we here are but a microcosm of our Country

I'm afraid our country is not much better. Our medical is better and our police force is very good, but the attitudes are much the same. All the info that we got about Michael was from the American press so there are many here who believe he was guilty.

Oh and by the way passin, it's not cold here. LOL This is a misconception that sadly so many Americans believe. The temperature as I sit is now at 72F and it is only 9:26 am. It is suppose to get up to 76F. This week has been one of the coolest so far this summer and it has already been at 90something this summer. My air conditioner has been set at auto for 3 weeks straight, so no it is not at all cold.

It is, after all, July just about everywhere. ;-)

Statement from Katherine Jackson's lawyer regarding Michael's children and the current chaos (source unknown):

"These are extremely intelligent young people growing into fine young adults and they obviously inherited a complex family dynamic. I'm absolutely certain they will be able to sort out the family dynamic, just as their father did, and make appropriate decisions about how to deal with the situation."

Sounds like any "normal" family to me.

MJ's kids are smart, smarter than the average kids their age and they will do just fine.

Debra: I agree. Michael lived with this kind of chaos his entire life. He was prescient enough to know this was going to happen to his children, also, coming from a myriad of sources -- dysfunctional family members, media vultures, industry manipulators, etc. The children were young but he also knew - as he told them many times - that he wasn't "going to be around forever" and he prepared them well. They are very mature children for their ages and probably a lot wiser and more perceptive than many realize and Michael's hand is all over that wisdom and strength.

The kids are very smart, although Paris has made some questionable moves. One thing about her, which will serve her well in the future: Hollywood has been put on notice - don't eff with Paris Jackson!

Sarah Jax says:
People thought that covering the kids in vails while out in public was just another of the "weird" things he did. But as Paris said, it was to protect them so when they were out and about, without disguises, no one would recognize them.
Pretty clever if you ask me.
And he didn`t give a hoot that the media would paint him in a weird shade, once again, for doing this.
Michael is the most underestimated person I know of. He knew so well what he was doing.
And yes, he prepared them well. He laid the ground for them for growing up to be able to cope with the world that they are destined to live in. Paris has proved that he succeded the last couple days.
That girl is not afraid to stand up for the most important person in her life, Katherine.
You did good, Michael.
