I'm getting my mom and grandma a purse hanger from www.TingDesigns.com. She's always saying "Bag on the floor. Money out the door!"

I think that people should reconsider buying crap this year. And just because it's expensive doesn't mean it's not crap.

We're in a recession. Buy American. Shop for something that will improve your mother's living situation or give her the gift of time. Help her put in a small garden, or wash & wax her car. Prepare a homemade gourmet meal.

Again, I find a book recommendation written BY THE AUTHOR to be less than persuasive.

You are so right !!! I use to take the small green vegtable card box tray that the tomatoes came in, than cover it with tin foil. Oh I thought I made him a very shiney special tray for his keys, change etc..... Only if we all did that special chore or the gift of time to anyone we care for !! :)

My Mom lives a couple states away from me. She can hardly get out of the house anymore for the surguries on her neck, both arms & legs. She has to drive the lawn mower down to the barn. So this year, instead of buying a bouqet of flowers, I'm buying a full out indoor plant for her. Luckily she has a green thumb & can't kill plants like I can.
