As for Bartha,

I wouldn't condemn him to movie hell, he's been in what, 3 movies? Let's give him a few years.

Maybe we can say he's in the "Actors in Development" room.

I secretly liked 'Failure to Launch'. Shh.

"Gigli"... "National Treasure"... "Failure to Launch"... "National Treasure: Book of Secrets"... "The Hangover".... "The Hangover Part II"... nope I'm sticking to the Razzie Hell nomination.

On the horizon is "Hangover Part III". Boy will need more than a FEW years to redeem himself at this pace.

Q says:
Haha. Well I haven't seen Gigli or the National Treasures, so you may be right!

Hangover III? Who is left to get married? Zach Galifianakis?

Gigli and National Treasures... oh the horror! Consider yourself lucky. I was forced to watch them, and have never been the same since!

Hangover III is just a road trip, I think. Maybe Part IV will be the marriage of Zach... officiated by Mr. Chow.

BTW, Nice pick on Joseph Gordon-Levitt. I'm hoping to see "Looper" sometime this weekend.

Jonathan says:
Emma, It looks like Justin Bartha is most known for a lot of bad movies. But I tells ya, that's not all he's best known for by everyone.
I saw 'Gigli' and 'National Treasure', and I can't even remember him in those.
He was very good in Todd Solondz's 'Dark Horse' this year, though.

It's not really fair to judge an actor mainly by the movies they're in. Look at how many bad movies Kurt Russell has been in! I could make a similar list arguing against his talent, if I went strictly by the movies he's starred in on average.

Bottom line, it looks like he was set up to fall, and in this company of actors it's no wonder why he did. Tough, tough competition.

J.B. Taylor says:
I recently watched it and I must say it was highly enjoyable. I think most of people in this thread will enjoy it. But bring your tissues though, there are some touching moments within the film.

You don't like any of those movies? Wow...talk about terrible taste!!

Outside of Gigli, that is.

Jonathan says:
That was quite unnecessary, not to forget wrong.
We all speak a different dialect of language Movie here, to varying degrees.
You, Dave, seem to speak in abrupt, assaultive grunts that are hard to make out as any sort of Movie-appreciation language at all. One could easily suspect trolling.
See you in line for 'Hangover 3'.

In reply to an earlier post on Oct 11, 2012 4:07:12 PM PDT
I can get down to the National Treasure flics (as previously mentioned), but I'm willing to admit that doesn't speak well for my taste.

The Hangover flics....after all the talk, all the hype, I expected more. Not a lot more, but certainly more.

J.B. Taylor says:
I think the treasure films are a widely accepted form of guilty pleasure. They were for me anyway's. As for the Hangover flicks, they were meant to be goofy fun and that's what they were for me. I liked them both. The first was far better than the 2nd one though.

After Ride the Lightening

Bob Balaban - 9
Joseph Gordon-Levitt - 7
Chris Cooper - 8
Toby Jones - 4
Reese Witherspoon -8
Bruce Willis- 1
Kate Winslet -8

+ "Coal burner"
-Butch "Stings, that's pride"

Personally, I thought Hangover II was a disappointment and I would be entertained watching Zach shop for groceries . I sure hope there is a new hour long stand up dvd release in the near future .

Currently in Hell,
"*Whistle* You want to get out of here? You talk to me."

Currently in the land "Down Under"
Firearms outlawed
Hookers EVERYWHERE, its legal

Re: Prostitution
Yeah, basically right. The exchange of dosh for sex is legal across Australia, with the industry regulated. Soliciting is illegal, so we don't have streets filled with prostitutes....just brothels filled with prostitutes.

Re:Gun Ownership
Only some guns are outlawed, but most guns are attainable with a license. Within my close group of friends are a couple of fairly avid hunters, and both own a variety of guns, from rifles to handguns. No semi-automatic's though.
