D'OH! That's right! Thanks for clearing that up for us, Professor Kinks.

Re why Fred and Barney had such great looking wives......

In cartoon pre-historic times, ALL women were gorgeous to the max, hence even unimpressive looking men got goddesses. So, there was nothing unusual about Fred and Barney having two such babes as Wilma and Betty - it was the norm. This is taught authoritatively in cartoon anthropology. I'm surprised I'm the only one who knows this!

Theory also applies to girlfriends. If I recall correctly, Captain Caveman had THREE really hot girlfriends.

I rest my case.

I feel sorry for the girlfriends. Image the gross drain clogs the Captain is capable of producing *shudders*

You know I never cared for the Flintstones for some reason...

Oz le Fou says:
"The look in Roger's eyes as Grace Jones climbs on top of him is sheer, if well-controlled, terror."

HAHA! Method acting.

Proving the adage: Treat 'em mean, keep 'em keen!

Hikari says:
No, I think in this case, the terror was real and the 'well-controlled' part was the acting professional in Roger. After all, Bond isn't terrified, right? But Rog was just a man approaching his senior years who had to climb into bed with an androgynous-looking personage that was bigger than he and far scarier. Grace Jones would scare the bejaybus out of me, too. I think Roger was afraid, if only for a fleeting second, that this was going to hurt.

Oz le Fou says:
Ah, that's exactly my point! Moore had terror in his eyes, so therefore Bond too.

I daresay Moore laughed about it afterwards. Jones probably framed a photo of that moment of terror, relishing it.

"Treat 'em mean, keep 'em keen!"

Very true. I fell in love w/my Husband the day he threw me into a movie theater garbage bin.

Grace Jones is just plain scary. That's why she made such a good villain. Pity they had the character rather wimp out at the end. But Bond's charm cannot be resisted.

That is one of my least favorite Bond movies. I just can't get past how obvious it is that it's a dummy being tossed from the blimp (emphasized when the leg bends the wrong way at the knee).

Hikari,

Number 9 was hysterical, IMO! : )

Yes. I particularly like the sick realization, too late, of the faux pas. Like, "Oh, my God--do I still have a job after this segment??"

Just remembered... today is National Lazy Day. I hope everyone has had a very unproductive day. I know I have.

I tried. Lord knows I TRIED!

Once again I put a really lame effort into being lazy.

In reply to an earlier post on Aug 10, 2012 2:47:44 PM PDT
Don't look so glum. It's the lack of effort that really counts.

Posted on Aug 10, 2012 2:51:34 PM PDT
Oh come on people. What is the point of having holidays if you don't participate? Now stop working, crack open a cold beer, and go watch the grass grow.

Cavaradossi says:
I'll never succeed at being lazy on purpose since it's just about impossible to do less than I normally do.

KinksRock says:
It's not lazy if you're trying to do it. Laziness just happens.
