... welcome!

Here it is, the elimination game and discussion to find what is the Amazon movie forum's favorite of all movie trilogies.

I'm open to further suggestions, if I really did miss anything relevant here.

Rules this time are simple:

1 point up & 1 down, per person, per day, no exceptions.

Please jump to the last page where someone voted, and cut and paste their list, and make the necessary adding and subtracting for your votes.

Or you can just scope the doings here and comment as you please.
-----------------------------------
{PLEASE NOTE: the following list has been cut down by half as of JUNE 25, 2012... so many of these titles are not available to vote on presently; of course, you can still comment on them all you like, and don't forget to tip the porter on your way in or out. . .}

Bear with me ...until I have this unbearable Amazon message decoded, and find out what in *Sam Hill* this idiot bot-censor is talking about with the "**...objectionable content."

Alright, I finally got the OP through.
Extra points if you can tell me what it was that kept getting auto-censored (preventing the whole post from being published.)

. . .and now I have an added annoyance of having the auto-censor tell me:
"** The discussion body is longer than the maximum body length of 16 kilobytes. Please edit it" *below*, so...
- - -

Figured out now. Alright, sorry for all the scrolling that this game will cause in the first weeks.

And for those wondering, this is *now* the biggest game in Amazon movie forum history. That was "Greatest Cult Classic Film Of All Time Game"... which started at 160+ titles long.
This is "only" 105 titles long!

And those who usually write extra stuff at the bottom of their voting list, may be better off saving extra comments for a separate post.

Last warning: have no fear, probably half these titles will be eliminated in the first few weeks, if not from us hardy band of down-voters, then from apathy -- that's right, if after 3 weeks time a movie is not voted UP, it is automatically thrown OUT of the competition.

That's all for now.

Plus The Pusher Trilogy - a frenetic start, a mellower amble through darkness for the second act, and an ending covered in blood.
Minus Big Momma - Blurghhh...Blurghhh...BLURGHHHH

105 trilogies! That's like 98% of them ever!

I almost didn't include a few like 'Big Momma's House', because I knew no one would vote *for* them.

You know, I said three weeks, but I think I may only give it 15 days before I delete many of these from the list that are simply cluttering up the aisles.

Does any one care about 'Maniac Cop' or the Proletariat Trilogy anymore?

There is some good stuff here. I basically sorted them into 2 piles..the "like" and the "dislike". 2 other categories exist, the "haven't seen" (not many in this pile to be honest) and the "don't care", meaning I may like at least one movie from the trilogy, but not enough to like the whole trilogy (example: Beverly Hills Cop Trilogy).

I was THAT close to upvoting the "That's Entertainment" trilogy. I've been watching it lately, and lovin' it....even my wife is enjoying it!

Dollars, Star Wars, LOTR, Godfather...all going to very popular, I's is tinkin'.

I checked the release date for the new Pegg/Frost/Wright flic, and it's 2014. Wassup wit dat?

EMMA,
I've been the proud owner of 'Spaced' for many a year now. Great show. It really shows the style of Wright that he has polished up in later years. Sadly, only two seasons, but two is better than none.

I first noticed Simon Pegg on Steve Coogan's show 'I'm Alan Partridge', and then on a skit show called 'Big Train'. We're kinda lucky in Oz as we get a lot of the shows from Brit tv, so Pegg's been on my radar for ages. He went missing for a bit from our(Oz) screens (though was doing a lot of work still), then he popped up in the Rik Mayall/Adrian Edmonson's 'Guest House Paradiso' (which I love), then I saw him in Michael Winterbottom's '24 Hour Party People',then I caught his small part in the dark 'Black Books', and then it was blow up time with 'Shaun of the Dead'. Love 'em.

Well, now it's official. You, JB, and Sloan are ALL the same person. Dam you! I was trying to be their female alter.

Haha.

Jon, is this really even a legit trilogy? Or are you just trying to sneak those darn Coens in?! ;)

Q: "Well, now it's official. You, JB, and Sloan are ALL the same person. Dam you! I was trying to be their female alter"

LOL. And here I was starting to believe I was your alter (i.e. roughly the same age,Rocky, Heathers, Can't Hardly Wait). Baker and Sloany are fantastic. Who ( in their right mind) wouldn't want to be their alt? No worries, you were here first so I'll defer the honor to you.

Color me envious. I hear US cable now offers a BBC America, but I'm not pay 150 bucks for one channel. Thankfully Netflix has started to expand their library.

JB, you creeper!!!

HAHA! I just read your comment. No one ever likes my reviews. I usually don't bother writing them.

Thanks for my +1 helpful. I was feeling particularly hateful towards that 'Fat Head' movie that day, and went on one of my soapboxes. God, it irks me when ignorant people go on a high horse because they read some stupid piece of literature (probably in an article from 'People' magazine) supporting an ignorant hypothesis, because it gives them justification to keep eating McDonalds. Egad!

They need to read 'Fast Food Nation' by Eric Schlosser. Great documentary!

Sorry, I am Queen Off-Topic.

And the movie version wasn't awful! Even though it was a drama and not a documentary! There! Back to films!

Q'd, re: "Hayseed Trilogy"

>"Jon, is this really even a legit trilogy? Or are you just trying to sneak those darn Coens in?!"<

Depends how we define "legitimate." If we are only supposed to consider trilogies that were *planned* to be trilogies, then it wouldn't be the only non-legitimate entry in this list.
But the Coen's did come up with the "Hayseed Trilogy" claim on their own, which is more than can be said for the so-called Hitchcock "Apartment Trilogy" -- which is something that fans came up with after the fact (after Hitch's death, I believe.

If anyone else would rather me get rid of these master's loosely-conceived "Trilogies" in favor of 'Shrek' and 'The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles', just let me know.

Frankly, I'm surprised at you, Q: why know love for the 'Sailor Moon' film trilogy!?
