I'm not sure if 'The Master' is even out here yet....probably not. It's high on the list of films I want to see, though.

Alex - "Seeing Mel Gibson trying to squeeze himself into a pair of pantyhose was life changing."

From what I can tell, Cage LOVES the roles he takes on. Sure, he loves the bulging pockets too, but from my perspective, the guy's having the time of his life.

Why do people get so upset about it?

Uh, coz apparently phoning in a performance for mucho dinero (a la Robert De Niro in recent times) is more acceptable than (over-)acting ones ass off for same (like Cage does frequently).

Moral?: If you're making too much money for too much garbage, you should at least look miserable doing it!?

Poor ol' Nicky. He really did give such a great performance in Raising Arizona.

One of my favorite movies that I used to watch with my dad when I was younger was Con Air.

Sadly, Cage and Cusack were kinda outplayed by their supporting characters...Buscemi, Malkovich (his best role?), Ving Rhames, Dave Chappelle aka Pinball, Danny Trejo (just creepy), Renoly Santiago (Hackers!), Nich Chinlund, etc.

Ah-Ha! So Alex is the better half?

Well, welcome to Alex, our newest member of the chain gang!

Ah, 'Con Air'. When it's on, I watch it. That cast doesn't hurt its appeal one bit.

Check out Solondz's 'Dark Horse' if you can. Justin Bartha's not bad at all. I haven't seen most of his other movies.

I thought he was pretty cool in the National Treasure films (shhhh). He's more known for his role in the Hangover films, even if he's actually hardly in them at all.

I'll definitely check out the Solondz. Actually, I'll try and watch it before I vote on him, either way.

Re: "A 20th century marvel"

Like the popularization of Thomas Crapper's flush convenience!?

Yep, kidding, I like Charlton Heston's movies for the most part, even if he moved like a chunky statue in most of them.

Posted on Oct 8, 2012 6:13:21 AM PDT
Now there's two folks I gotta' look up-- Bartha and Toby Jones. Don't know them by name only.

I'll vote later after work, when I have time to investigate.

I gather that any "casting couch" would be a slice of hell for any actors on this list.

I did laugh at the Hitchcock / "Postal" respective couches reference .

I personally believe Mr. Gibson is a transparent choice as a whipping post. "I'm not racist, Mel Gibson he's racist, " I think you should hold that energy for the inevitable Charles Sheen addiction to this list . Uh, addition.

I also add Gibson made his bed . Four hundred million does buy really nice sheets and apparently, according to police report, garbage tequila.

Four hundred million is a reference to his personal projected earnings for "Passion of the Christ" and not his current estimated net worth in excess of eight hundred million . Also for the misinformed Gibson is not an "Aussie" by birth . He was born in New York.

Who said Mel was an Aussie by birth?

I haven't yet seen a bad Toby Jones performance. I haven't seen much of his stuff, but what I have seen, I've liked. He's another of those unique looking actors that will always be used for roles that match his image - usually resulting in a role tailor-made for him.

Keep an eye out for Toby playing Alfred Hitchcock in 'The Girl', a film chronicling Hitch's relationship with Tippi Hedron.
