Emma, oops, yeah, that, too.

Jonathan: Thank you. In the words of Aaahhnold, "I'll be back," eventually anyway.

Jonathan and Sloany: Yes, but what good is having a friend who lives in the future if he is not giving us those winning lottery numbers? Just kidding, Toby, you're the best and I hope your little ones aren't running you and your woman ragged.

Alice, re: "In the words of Aaahhnold, "I'll be back,""<

. . .and as Tom Bodett said: "We'll leave the light on for you®" ...and in case the light burns out in your absence, we'll have to start using 'Office Space' furniture and 'Heathers' teenagers for kindling.

Oz le Fou says:
Q: "Don't let those fools over there bother you. We know you aren't a puppet."

Yeah, cheers. They don't bother me. If they wanna think that, then that's their problem. They're so sure of it though, aren't they?

The latest claims are that I have lost my credibility by choosing not to play on the old thread. Why, WHY would I want to play with a bunch of folk who don't even think I am me? They are so caught up (or invested) in their own perspective of all this that they are completely unable to look at it through anothers eyes. Logic and reason take a back seat while pride drives and stupidity rides shotgun! Well pull over coz I want out [cue footage of me leaping out of a moving car as it careens down the road].

Cars registration plate reads "LOSTINAMERICA"

Oh, and Happy Birthday America! Just two days before George W Bush's birthday. Just three days before mine. And just eight days after EMMA's birthday! Happy Birthday for all those days ago EM!

Oz le Fou says:
Quexos,
Yeah, I hear ya. 'Porno' was the last Welsh book I read. That mean-spiritidness was starting to become more evident by 'Ecstasy'. Somewhere along the line I lost the urge to keep reading his stuff.

After Bremmer made for such a memorable Spud, It would just seem plain weird seeing him play Renton. Still, wouldn't mind a gander, to be sure.

Oz le Fou says:
Unique and winsome!

Aw shucks dude.

And as to the future, unfortunately Thursday is much like Wednesday. Maybe a little sunnier.

In reply to an earlier post on Jul 4, 2012 9:00:34 PM PDT
J. Baker says:
Yeah, just so everybody knows, I brought enough "Unique and Winsome" to describe for everyone in the thread... it's not just for Sloany and Emma... you can all have a piece!

Speaking of the future. Future potential cult movie of the year last:
The Future!
Miranda July doesn't have the fanbase that Wes Anderson has, or that even the creatively-challenged Sophia Coppola has, but she does have *something* of a fervent following, and they might be growing. The Neo-Twee revolution is afoot, you heard it here first! And the mouthpiece will be talking cats beyond the grave, narrated by July!

J. Baker says:
I almost forgot. We were talking about Raimi on the Coen thread and it reminded me: still not too late to add Raimi's 'Evil Dead II: Dead by Dawn', someone...? But I'm not going to add it.
So that's the word for today.

And I was gazing at the info on Raimi's new one -- 'Oz: The Great and Powerful' (2013) -- and it looks like he has the cast chock-full'o'babes: Rachel Weisz, Mila Kunis, Carly francavilla, Abigail Spencer, Michelle Williams, Deborah Puette, et cetera. . .

Nothing more to add. I just thought that was strange. I mean, why would an aging director want a bunch of sexy young actresses in his big budget fantasy movie, right!? Hollyweirdland!

I'm thinking I wanna add one Hip-Hop flick. It's between 'Juice' and 'Tougher Than Leather'.
I'm definitely gonna add 'Ghosts....of the Civil Dead'. AUS Represent!!

Tougher Than Leather: According to The Washington Post, the film is "vile, vicious, despicable, stupid, sexist, racist and horrendously made."

Or maybe Style Wars. This one has a bigger cult than some may think.

Wild Style is kinda the undisputed champ of Hip-Hop cult "classic", but it isn't near as good as 'Style Wars'. A curious fact about 'Wild Style' is it was voted as one of the Top Ten Rock and Roll Films of all time by the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame

Sloany: "Happy Birthday for all those days ago EM!"

Thanks dude! I woke up that morning thinking "Bloody Hell! I don't want to be 33."

Ten minutes later...

Oh wait, I'm 32. The mind apparently is the first thing to go.

Sloany: "Thursday is much like Wednesday. Maybe a little sunnier."

Ha! Love it. Also sounds like the title (or chapter) of a self-help book.

I suffer the same illness. I have to ask my wife how old am I all the time. Not kidding in the least either. It seems to be turning though. I am well aware that I'll be 35 on my next birthday (after having my wife tell me how old I will be). Between the ages of 31 and 34 I had no idea how old I was. If anyone asked, I'd usually answer like "33?". And I'm not kidding in the least! But it's still kinda funny!!

Who needs a mind when you have a body like mine (cough)

My vote for the worst/funniest cover ever.
