We already have a game just like this. Why do we need two?

Q says:
"Minus nobody for now"

Is this allowed? Just in case I may want to use it sometime...

In reply to an earlier post on Oct 7, 2012 10:38:55 AM PDT
Bette Davis - 6
Nicolas Cage - 1
Charlton Heston - 3
Philip Seymour Hoffman - 8
Kate Winslet - 5
Mel Gibson - 3
Frances McDormand - 7

+1 The Hoffman
-1 Nick Cage( I remembered just how bad he is now after watching Ghost Rider)

In reply to an earlier post on Oct 7, 2012 10:39:55 AM PDT
We need two because hopefully this game will not devolve into accusations when people post. The other game got to be significantly "Not Fun" for me, which is why I stopped participating in it.

With luck, the people who play this game will come here for a good time, not to bait and troll others.

Also, that game had too many obscure actors. I can't vote on people I don't know!

Q says:
Speaking of Philip Seymour, my lady and I went to see 'The Master' the other night. I'm curious what others thought of this film.

She really likes Mr. Hoffman. I'm convincing her to play. Then I'm gonna pull a cobaltspectre and set up an account for my daughter and my dog and so forth...

In reply to an earlier post on Oct 7, 2012 10:54:23 AM PDT
I haven't seen The Master yet. It looked really good, by all accounts. However, I so rarely go to the theater. I'm sure it'll be a Netflix for me in 6 months time.

Alex says:
After Q

Bette Davis - 7
Nicolas Cage - 1
Charlton Heston - 2
Philip Seymour Hoffman - 9
Kate Winslet - 5
Mel Gibson - 2
Frances McDormand - 7

Mel Gibson (-1)
Philip Seymour (+1)

I am coming into this a little biased due to my limited knowledge on a couple of these actors. But I am VERY confident in how much I despise everything about Mel Gibson. Aside from "What Women Want". Seeing Mel Gibson trying to squeeze himself into a pair of pantyhose was life changing.

After Alex

Bette Davis - 7
Nicolas Cage - 1
Charlton Heston - 3
Philip Seymour Hoffman - 9
Kate Winslet - 5
Mel Gibson - 2
Frances McDormand - 7

+ Heston
no downvotes--increasingly, I find the notion objectionable.

"selling their soul for fame and fortune but not ability"

To whom are you referring?

J. Baker says:
It didn't make much sense to me either, but I'm 94% sure he's referring to Nick Cage.

Oz le Fou says:
AP,
There were a bunch of us who enjoyed the Actor's Game until ol' grumbles turned it into a place for grumbling. This game was created, very simply, for us to play without the constant...grumbles. Also, here, it's not a fame game. Votes shouldn't be cast on an actors level of fame, but rather on whether you/we/I like or dislike the actor. This is a crucial difference. In the opening post I ask players to avoid voting down actors they know nothing of.

It's up to you if you want to play here. You are welcome. One warning though: no bigotry. One sign of bigotry, and it's banning time. That means no jabs towards any actor's sexual inclination, or skin colour, or cultural background.

All good?

Q Re: No downvotes
Sure it's ok. No downvotes, no upvotes, whatever.

I'm glad you took the bait, too. I knew you wouldn't be able to resist ol' Heston.

I'd be so good at the deadliest game ;)

Watch Adaptation to remember how good he is.
