WAS: Eh. Vertigo was the first thing that came to mind when you said that.

Very good. I still say, no matter how much you admire his work, avoiding Super Shark, Capitol Conspiracy, Biohazard, and Dinosaur Island [VHS] is in your best interests.

WAS,

By invoking Poverty Row, after all not a genre, I was thinking the spirit of which (Dwain Esper, Edgar G. Ulmer, etc.) could be fairly said to inhabit the latter-day Incredibly Strange set of exploitation directors. Working from a shoestring has often provoked filmmakers into strange territories... regardless of decade or classification.
A Studio background or total independence, is not that important a difference, when filmmakers are working on that low a scale.
Let's try not to be overly pedantic about things for which there is hardly a definite orthodoxy on.
It's worse than being a Zombie Movie snob... (I plead guilty: Romero forever!)

No arguments forthcoming, not from my end. I've got bigger fish to fry. Let's not make it political, friends.
