I've been a huge fan of Joseph Gordon Levitt since 3rd rock from the sun and I got to tell you, that if you haven't seen Looper yet, you must go see it. Levitt put in his best performance yet in this film. He was fantastic.

"Pam Grier annoyed the fug out of me in The L Word."

Yeah, but this is the movie forum, not a TV forum. Are you saying you've never seen any of her movie performances?

JB,

Better performance than he did for 'The Lookout'? Cos JGL was pretty great in 'The Lookout'.

I wish I could share my perfectly good DVD of 'Coffy' with some of you.

The lookout was a very good film, but JGL really steps his game up in The Looper. I'd recommend it to anyone.

Q says:
"Are you saying you've never seen any of her movie performances?"

Yeah, yeah, yeah....but now all I can think about when her name is mentioned is The L Word.

And TV still counts as acting, no? Taylor was just mentioning the ol' 3rd Rock from the Sun.

BAHAHAHA! Nice, JB! :D

Jon Patrick says:
Sure TV counts. Hey, if I put John Goodman on here and people only knew him from his Webcasts or 'Roseanne', and voted accordingly, that's their prerogative. But that's only a small sampling of what they can do. TV, similarly, is just a box. Movies are a great canvas were acting can flourish.
And if someone were to add an actor known mainly for their TV work, like Michael Richards, I wouldn't blame them at all for voting based on Seinfeld, rather than 'Unstrung Heroes', say.
Sadly in his case, some people would no doubt be voting mainly based on his "performance" in a few seconds of a leaked cell capture.

Movies > Plays > TV > Web > Cellphone video!

P. S. - I've never seen Pam Grier in The L Word, but the rest of the cast looked great to me. Beals is a longtime favorite, as is Kirshner. One of these days I'll watch a full episode or two of that.

Q,

Of course you've seen 'Jackie Brown', right? I mean, how could you not! That would be crazy.

Q says:
I don't even know who Michael Richards is. Haha. Alright, alright, I will leave Ms. Grier be.

"Of course you've seen 'Jackie Brown', right? I mean, how could you not! That would be crazy."

Yeah, probably 15 years ago. I will have to revisit it. All of those Tarantino films tend to blur together.

I have to admit that I have never seen G.I. Joe. I may or may not put it on my to-do list.

I really, really love the (500) Days of Summer JGL. He was perfect.

As for your quote Tim, I think he executes that concept quite well. He has rocked starkly different roles. Just take a look at sweet, passive, pensive, indie Joseph in '(500) Days of Summer' vs. violent, young, heavy metal dancing punk Joseph in 'Manic' vs. the awesomeness that is 'Mysterious SKin'!!!

Oh, and don't forget about this Joseph:

Q: "I will leave Ms. Grier be."

You should vote against whoever you dislike the most. If that happens to be Ms. Grier, so be it. <<<<::::semi-subliminal message::Toby Jones is a sitting duck::>>>>

Don't forget to see Joe G-L in 'Hesher'. He's very funny in that.

In reply to an earlier post on Oct 14, 2012 9:37:13 PM PDT
I must recommend that you don't watch G.I Joe. If you enjoy having brain cells and functioning eyes, you won't add it to your to do list. This movie nearly killed me. I was life support for two months after watching it.

He looks like a total tool, but I can't vote on him because I don't know him! I'm tryin' to play fair here, Jon!

Although, I could just vote him down for having the audacity to think he could pass for Hitch. Pfft.

Darn, I forgot to remind you to add a new actor, Emma.

How many episodes did they have showing Kramer✮ admiring really bad poetry? I count no less than three. There were probably more.

I didn't notice any spike in the popularity of the name Ethan in the States. So maybe it is just there.

✮ that's Michael Richards, Q!

In reply to an earlier post on Oct 15, 2012 2:09:16 AM PDT
I've got two - the librarian and her suppressed desires, and the words of the unknown 20th century poet Newman - but can't think of the third?

@Ethan
Two of my friends named their kid Ethan, and there are three at my daughters day-care. That makes five I have met. Outta control!
