Here we are, together again for the third time.
Another 10k anyone?

"WHY THE THIRD DEGREE?" The Third Edition of "ONE DEGREE OF SEPARATION"

"Why the Third Degree?" rules for any newcomers:
Just state the name of an actor/actress and any movie they were in, and the next person has to name another actor/actress in that same movie but use a different movie they were in, and it goes on like that.

Example:
If I say Marlon Brando in The Godfather, the next person can say Al Pacino in Carlito's Way, and the next person could say Sean Penn in Tree of Life, then maybe Brad Pitt in Ocean's 11, and so forth.

P.S. Please stick to "feature films" (be they theatrical, direct-to-video, or made-for-TV) and refrain from listing television miniseries, short films, archival footage of performances, etc., as this tends to hinder the game dynamic.

So, picking up where we left off:

Nick Dennis - Sirrocco
Zero Mostel - Panic in the Streets

I hurried it along because I wanted to be sure we used Quexos's title.

Ann Rutherford - They Only Kill Their Masters
James Garner - 36 Hours

...and how could that disgusting Academy not include Ann Rutherford in it's Memorial List at the Oscars this year?

It was incredibly long. 3:08 last year, 3:35 this year. But I actually did watch it, as I have for many years. I can't help myself. I guess it all started in a time long ago when there were films of quality which actually deserved to be honored.

Eva Marie Saint - North By Northwest
Martin Landau - Crimes and Misdemeanors

Of course, the award shows are self-aggrandizing. They are set up to praise themselves; that's a given. The Oscars aren't awarded by the Boy Scouts or the National Almond Growers Association. The idea is for the film industry to award itself for meritorious achievement each year. The problem is, most of the time, they wouldn't know meritorious achievement if it bit them in the arse.

However...I still love movies, what can I say?

Excellent very un-Hollywood film from the sixties.

Robert Earl Jones - One Potato, Two Potato
Barbara Barrie - To Be Young, Gifted, and Black

Speaking of which, Al Freeman Jr, another fine actor left off the Academy's Memorial List at the Oscars this year. Grrrrrrrrr...
