Larry Kelley says:
Gordo: Disagree. If that was the secret, you shouldn't have told. I know the secret and I'm not telling.
Statement: Tom Cruise is not the worse actor around, you get what you pay for and he did a fine job in "The Last Samurai, a good action flick.

In reply to an earlier post on Nov 3, 2012 11:56:13 PM PDT
Disagree. We get far less back for our entertainment dollar compared to what Tom Cruise is getting paid. He is not worth it, and hasn't given a really striking performance in decades.

Statement: A good name for a girl is Sally. Never known a bad Sally. Especially if they're going to be long/tall.

In reply to an earlier post on Nov 4, 2012 9:58:12 AM PST
Agreed. I also have never known a bad Sally.

Statement: Oliver Stone's last good film was JFK.

Mike Gordan says:
Pastor: Agreed, and I'll go a step further that it's also his only good movie; but that's not my statement.

Statement: Troll 2 is one of the most entertaining trash films ever made.

Agree...sort of (I still wouldn't put it in my top fifty for fun 'trash'... it's up there though).

Statement: (1a) Al Gore gives awareness of Environmentalist concerns a bad name, but he is not a climatologist, a mere politician.
However (1b) 98% of climate scientists (i.e., all who aren't bought out by the oil industry and their absurd propaganda) are agreed that global warming is caused mainly by the influence of man's destructive effect on earth, and this is a legitimate subject for concern, and a legitimate topic for art to address if done well.
Sorry that's a twofold statement. The 1b part is the relevant part. Ignore the Gore preface.

In reply to an earlier post on Nov 4, 2012 6:52:53 PM PST
Agree with 1b.

STATEMENT: NASA needs to be privately funded and used to send human explorers to other planets.

For the record, JB's reply (which didn't deserve to be deleted) was:

"My mistake d-----. I misunderstood what type of statement we could make. Learn some manners."

In reply to an earlier post on Nov 4, 2012 7:24:31 PM PST
rick tan says:
that matters? the post that jb responded to was deleted before anyone saw it

In reply to an earlier post on Nov 4, 2012 7:37:41 PM PST
Well obviously JB and I saw it, so there's two "anyone"s you're not accounting for.
What you write matters. It affects other people. Try to think before you post.

Re: "The upcoming Halo movie by Steven Spielberg will be the first video game adaption to strike gold in terms of box office success."

Disagree. There have been plenty of other highly profitable video game-to-movie adaptations.
'Lara Croft: Tomb Raider' for example, made over $130 Million. And 'Mortal Kombat' made over 70 Million.
That's a lot of profit based on their investment.
And there's a reason they keep making those 'Resident Evil' and 'Pokemon' movies, and it ain't for the love of moviemaking.

Statement: Movies like 'Inception' and 'Looper' are deliberately, needlessly complicated and ultimately unsatisfying the more one thinks about them.

In reply to an earlier post on Nov 4, 2012 7:58:20 PM PST
Disagree, on Looper anyways.
I thought the movie was highly entertaining and unique to watch. Inception however, was just definitely, needlessly complicated. I think that was just Nolan showing off, if I'm honest.

Statement: Brad Pitt and George Clooney are two of the most overrated actors in movie history.

In reply to an earlier post on Nov 4, 2012 8:02:32 PM PST
rick tan says:
disagree. kinda. think brad is a stud in stuff like "jesse james" and "river runs through it". clooney ya not too impressed.

statement: upcoming god of war movie will > clash of the titans anything

In reply to an earlier post on Nov 4, 2012 8:06:56 PM PST
Disagree...I think. I can't really make head or tail of that. 'Spartacus' is still the best.

Statement: Carla Gugino has ripe, rotund, succulent ... thespian abilities; and she deserves better roles.

In reply to an earlier post on Nov 4, 2012 8:11:39 PM PST
Agree.

Statement: Movies need less violence and more bow chica bow wow!
