How about posters list their favourite porn film and then someone start a game thread with pretty tit-les?

In reply to an earlier post on Sep 17, 2012 9:40:59 AM PDT
*laughing hysterically*

That's a good idea. It would be very tit-illating.

Hikari,

re: Sherlock and gays and stuff (oh my!)

I caught the pilot of the new "Sherlock" the night it aired on PBS. That's all. I may rent it eventually. I'm often overwhelmed by the amount of media stimuli that's available. There's so much to watch, so much to choose from ... and in this world one has to really choose gems because time is fleeting, and no way I'm wasting it on mediocre TV or movies or anything, lol. But "Sherlock" seems fun.

I am currently renting "Monk"; never watched it on TV but it's almost as enjoyable as the Columbo movies that my parents enjoyed in the 1970's (and I enjoyed via osmosis). One likes an eccentric detective. Saying "one" like that makes me sound like a professor, hee hee.

The whole gay subtext there of which you spoke sounds interesting, but I do get a smidgen miffed at folks who seek that sort of thing in any obviously heterosexual scenario (I'm not talking about Sherlock here, just generally), or people who twist something into a gay thing simply because they want it to be (I hope this makes sense ... heck, they may revoke my gay i.d. card and my Cher albums for this!)-- just like I get peeved at people who believe that gays 'recruit' new members, like a Tupperware cult or something. Rubbish. But where was I? Ahh, Sherlock. The Cucumberbund fellow has this very interesting face. I haven't a clue if he's attractive or scary. And I know what I like (Tom Hardy in the PBS revamp of "Wuthering Heights", as I once mentioned to you; dishy guy, and I like saying dishy even though I am not British).

I see you can create your own double-entendres too! Veddy good.

By the way:
Did you notice amongst the responses to this thread, that someone said: "Porn began shortly after the camera was invented."

!!!?!
Shortly, so maybe a few days passed?
When I saw that answer I immediately said to myself, "Hmm, drawings and paintings were never pornographic or erotic, I guess". ;)

Bye for now,
Sardy

"someone said: "Porn began shortly after the camera was invented."

-LOL!!!.. And i tought that was the main reason why they invented cameras in the first place!

D. Larson says:
I don't have a problem with the "purpose" of porn; that's self-evident.

It's the quality that I object to. From my admittedly limited experience, this stuff is generally awful. Cheap production, bad costuming, worse acting and a disconcerting number of people with amateurish tattoos. I'm not looking for Oscar-worthy emoting here, but does every big O have to be so over-the-top? Can people who were not Olympic gymnasts really maintain those positions for a half hour at a time? Is there a single lonely pudendal hair left in all of porndom?

I'm not complaining that "Those people don't look like me". That's a given. It's that those people don't look like anybody I know. Maybe that's my fault, not theirs. Maybe I need to hang out with younger, fitter, more hairless people.

Hikari says:
@baron
One wonders what the sainted Sir Arthur Conan Doyle would make of this new take on his iconic partnership.

The joke was initially funny because in 2010-12, in the trendiest part of Central London where 221B Baker Street is located, it is a not completely-out-of-left field assumption that two young men living together by choice would be a romantic couple. Particularly when one is a doctor and the other, though tenuously self-employed, obviously has a trust fund given his expensive tastes. (Sherlock's coat runs $2000 and the Scarf is $300, in case anybody cares.) John is hurting for dosh, but the Holmes boys are set up nicely. Sherlock just hates talking about money; anyway, he wanted a roommate for company (ie, an audience) since the skull proved unsatisfactory at providing the requisite admiring feedback.

Sherlock's legendary disinterest in women does leave him open to speculation and people are eager to fill that gap. "He doesn't like girls? Well, then--it must be boys that butter his biscuit!" Our culture is very uncomfortable with the construct of asexuality. Sherlock is married to his work, as he himself has said.

But--this Sherlock doesn't fit the typical rather prissy Victorian mold, no how, and it doesn't seem possible that NOTHING should ring his bell 'that way'. Add to it the fizzy chemistry that Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman have together and perhaps it was inevitable. There is some very intense eye-action going on. Those two just clicked and they were off to the races.

Apparently both actors were asked in the early stages--if this Holmes and Watson end up becoming a romantic item, would they be OK with that? Could they lock lips? Coming from a thespian tradition that has long had amorphous sexual casting (hey, even our butch Lestrade has played gay, in "Maurice", you know), they both said 'Yeah, sure.' Series co-creator/producer/Mycroft Mark Gatiss is gay himself, so I don't know if he's the source of all this shipping of John and Sherlock as a couple . . .but the fans have certainly run with it.

If Martin Freeman gets to lock lips with B. Cumberbatch, then for my part I have to say, "Lucky Martin." Even if Dr. Watson might have to stand on a stepstool.

Let us say that it is possible that our duo are each other's exceptions to their long-standing preferred patterns of behavior.

Ie, John is usually straight, but he's become Holmessexual. After all, Sherlock IS very charismatic. And Sherlock normally eschews all sexual frippery but since Watson's moved in, he has become Johncurious. It could happen, particularly with this pair.

If it occurs, I hope that will be the fade-out on the series. Will reduce the amount of rolling Sir Arthur has to do in his grave. ;-)

Martin Freeman comes out of the closet on "Bruiser".

Out of curiosity, I looked up Adult films on Amazon.com.

I was surprised to see a DVD called Mr Rogers Neighbourhood.

Hikari,

That was cute!

Hikari says:
Thanks. I can't take credit for that. That was one of the other Sherlock fans on YouTube.

It's a rather odd phenomenon, given the legions of female fans that adore our two actors (Benedict's own massive fan club is known as the Cumberb(r)itches. Just leave the R out when you say it. This makes our B., an impeccably raised young man taught to respect women a little uncomfortable, but that is the name they choose. The 'itches are the most eager for John and Sherlock to be in love. Can you figure it? I can't, really, but it's easy to get caught up in the shipping hysteria. Another faction ships Sherlock's big brother and the hunky police inspector--that ship is called 'Mystrade'. lol

Fallen, i hope your not mad or anything. Your thread gave me some good laughs! There's been some great posts and I was wondering if the purpose of porn was clearer for you now. I think you can find my personal definition on the subject on the previous page. I havent reviewed any porn yet, im not sure it would respect my profile values and purpose but since i like horror, shocking and disturbing content (which should include include sex right?), i may write one for the human centipede sex parody movie. the human sexipede. I think this could be funny, and since i already reviewed the first 2, i wouldnt mind adding a little "off-topic" review under my profile....just for the love of porn :)....he,he.

Well, most of the posts are what I expected. The most obvious answers would be specifically for visual stimulation. That's what just about everyone says, but I feel there's also a cost that goes with it. I'm really not a fan of exploitation of any kind and that's what I feel porn does. It may not seem that way with a lot of people, but that's what I feel it does and the people who work in that industry continue to perpetuate that to themselves and others. I see it as legal prostitution given an excuse to be captured on film. Even if some choose to be exploited willingly doesn't make it right: man or woman. I'm a firm believer of "To each his own", but I feel a line has to be drawn somewhere. I'm sorry, but there's nothing beautiful or sexy about what goes on in those movies especially in this day and age.

" I'm really not a fan of exploitation of any kind and that's what I feel porn does"

- I Understand what you mean. Lots of porn can leave you with that impression, for some of them, its actually important to give that impression. But i can assure you that they're not all like that. Some movies were made in equity and respect of all the parties involved. Just take all the amateur porn videos that are posted on the internet everyday...and willingly! Aside from smiling, most of these people do look very happy and excited to be doing such a naughty thing on camera!...I think its important for someone who's looking for porn to look for what HE or SHE really wants to see. And i dont think thats a big issue, after all, porn is for adults and/or people that knows what they want and knows what kind of content they're about to see....Perhaps your first experience with Porn wasnt exciting, maybe the girl you were watching on TV wasnt having any fun, theres a lot of those too but hopefully in time (and right selection), you'll see porn for what it really is.............A blessing! :)

I am definitely going to have to rent this show. But it must wait until we're done with season one of "Monk", then my better half will rent the latest DVD season of Dexter, and maybe then it'll be time for "Sherlock".

Happy travels. I envy you for discovering these for the first time. To me they are like old friends.

Under free market capitalism, man exploits man.

Under socialism, it's the other way around.

Paul, if you look right beside the "Go" Button next to the search toolbar you should see" Your Account" (right beside the cart logo) by clicking there you should have access to all your orders. If theres a problem with one of your order you can contact the seller for more information. This page should tell you if the item has shipped or not, you can also click on "view order details", you should see an option called "Problem with this order?" and follow the instruction from there .If you dont get any answers from the seller you can still contact Amazon. Procedures to contact them are also indicated there.

That being said, what are your views on Porn ? :)

More importantly, what are Clint Eastwood's views on porn?

In reply to an earlier post on Sep 18, 2012 9:16:59 AM PDT
LOL!! Clint would probably say something like : Nah that doesn't bother me. Ive seen it all son. But you know what does bother me? You know what makes me really sick to my stomach?......

@D.
Well, just pull up a chair and he'll be happy to tell ya.

He'd probably say something along the lines of . . "Porn . . .don't have much use for it. After a while, a guy gets tired of doin' that to himself. Gets to a point where it's no fun anymore. More fun to tell other people to do it to themselves. What the hell do I care anymore? I'm 82 years old & I forgot the question. Go ahead, punk--see if you feel lucky enough to keep laughin'."

In reply to an earlier post on Sep 18, 2012 10:00:26 AM PDT
LOL!!

Clint Eastwood says : Listen punk! When a naked man is chasing a woman through an alley with a butcher knife and a hard-on, I figure he isn't out collecting for the Red Cross....

Wouldn't that be defined as a serial rapist?
