Question here,

Just exactly how many votes are we doing here? I noticed WAS gave Topaz a +3, and earlier Toby gave I Confess only a +1.

Can we make our voting choices a tad bit clearer?

Thanks ever so,
Q

E. E. Squyres,

Thanks for finding the game, but there's only 2 upvotes and 2 downvotes in this game.

Jonathan says:
E. E.,

P. S. - I'm only going to count the votes +1 Strangers and +1 Trouble (which you gave +2 each to) ...unless you say that you prefer 'Shadow of a Doubt' to be counted among your 2 allowed votes.

If you vote for one other title, not just one, you only get +1 each on those, not +2 for both.

Once again, this is a 2/2 game, not 3/3.

Toby vote up 'I Confess' AND 'Rear Window' (+1 each, because he remember the rules of each game, jah bless!) - hence his pun: "I Reary liked it".

JB, You didn't make any mistakes here!

It's the other new guy (E. E. Squyres) and William Smith that made the mistakes.
New guys usually make mistakes when all these games have different voting rules, but the only mistakes you made were on the Coen brothers poll, and that got sorted out right quick. You've been right on target ever since!

*****SPOILERS*****
JPB "As you may have gathered from my voting, 'Young and Innocent' is my favorite among those you hired out for the week. It's like 'High Sierra' is, pure entertainment - a guy, a girl, a car, chasing down their fate. The ending is one of my favorite in the whole Hitchcock canon."

I see what you mean about the ending. Undone by the very thing he uses to hide. I thought the film was book-ended perfectly. Starting with a slap or two and a twitch, and ending with a slap on a drum and a twitch.

Derrick De Marney was great; playful, comedic tone and all.

I've always liked that movie. Never heard anyone call it "horrible" before. But since it's so rare, I wouldn't expect it to place high on any list. So might as well keep a-down-voting!

JB,

The leading man is so whiney. I can't take it. I thought my synopsis summed it up pretty well.

Not to mention, I have a really sheety transfer, and the dialogue is ruined by the overpowering musical score (which is awful).

That's what you get for buying cheap Hitch compilations. Thank goodness I have the *good* films in an awesome box set with subtitles and lots of special features!
