One thing I've learned over the years is common sense isn't all that common at all. ;~)

Good morning darling, hope you have recovered completely from your bad leg. Are you back at work?

Have you ever seen this obituary for Common Sense?

Common Sense
In Memorium

Today we mourn the passing of a beloved old friend by the name of Common Sense.

No one knows for sure how old he was since his birth records were long ago lost in bureaucratic red tape.

He will be remembered as having cultivated valued lessons such as knowing when to come in out of the rain, why the early bird gets the worm and that life isn't always fair.

Common Sense lived by simple, sound financial policies (don't spend more than you earn) and reliable parenting strategies (adults, not kids, are in charge). His health began to rapidly deteriorate when well intentioned but overbearing regulations were set in place.

Reports of a six-year-old boy charged with sexual harassment for kissing a classmate, teens suspended from school for using mouthwash after lunch, and a teacher fired for reprimanding an unruly student only worsened his condition. It declined even further when schools were required to get parental consent to administer aspirin to a student but could not inform the parents when a student became pregnant and wanted to have an abortion.

Finally, Common sense lost the will to live as the Ten Commandments became contraband, churches became businesses and criminals received better treatment than their victims.

Common Sense finally gave up the ghost after a woman failed to realize that a steaming cup of coffee was hot, spilled a bit in her lap, and was awarded a huge settlement.

Common Sense was preceded in death by his parents, Truth and Trust, his wife, Discretion; his daughter, Responsibility; and his son, Reason. He is survived by two stepbrothers; My Rights and Ima Whiner. Not many attended his funeral because so few realized he was gone.

Still limpin' around, injuries like this take at least 6 weeks to heal and even longer depending how old the person is. Right now I'm 123 years old so I figure I'll be back in fine shape come 2034.

Here's my impression of Every Damn Playboy Playmate Calendar Video Ever Made:

(Each Playmate gets two scenes: the "fun" scene and the "sexy" scene.)
The fun scene: The Playmate is fully clothed. She's kissing puppy dogs. She throws balloons into the air. She's playing football with the guys. She walks down the street. A second-long flash of her in a bikini. Now she's clothed again. A second in lingerie. A second naked. Now, clothed again, playing football. Clothed with the puppy dogs. Clothed with the balloons. Naked with the puppy dogs (ick), but only for a second. Naked playing football (oh, yeah, you wish. Nope, just kidding.) In lingerie walking down the street. In a bikini walking down the street. In a nun's outfit walking down the street with the balloons and the puppy dogs. Big finish: naked for a second, throwing balloons and puppy dogs into the air!

The "sexy" scene: First, stare at a candelabra. Now, we see her fully clothed. Now in lingerie. Now she's on a bed (naked, but we don't know that yet) Starting at the toes, pan, very, very, verrrrrry slowly up her body. Oh, no, we've reached her knees this is getting too intense, gotta pan back down to the toes. Nope, it's too intense, let's go back to the candelabra again. Whew. Okay, thet's hang here for a bit. Okay, take it from the top (clothed again, lingerie again, back to the toes, slow pan) okay, now, up the thighs slowwwwy, okay now quicky hurrypan asfast as youcan over thegoodbits and now, pan slowwwwwy over the shoulder, down the outstretched arm, down...down to the forearm...down to the hand.
Whew. Okay. Back to the candelabra. Clothed again. Lingerie again. Okay, she rolls over on the bed (go through the foot to hand pan all over again). End on the candelabra.

I don't think so, I need a nap after all that.

It's basically "Show & Tell" for kids who went to Catholic school where Sex-Ed wasn't offered.

Q and FallenMarvel,

I can't take credit for writing the Common Sense obituary. I'm not sure of the author. A colleague shared it with me years ago and I liked it. : )

I agree to some extent, that it is stupid to harm yourself by indulging in certain vices that will make you sick, but that's just my opinion for me, some people are not concerned with long life and live for now. I think people who indulge in vices have the right to do so. "common Sense" this applies if ur goal is long life. I would not consider living to be 99 fortunate, more like a curse. I do not believe i have the right to judge the actions of anybody else, but at the same time people need to take resposibility for there actions.

Opposed to, most people with a military background, or maybe people in law inforcement, or maybe people from the streets of rough neighborhoods, where mainstream thinking is just an opinion, not carved in stone the right way to think.

> I read somewhere that a Jewish Porn star, who had been a prostitute said, "You got it. You sell it.
> You still got it. What a business!"

Why is the porn star's ethnicity of any relevance to this anecdote?

D. Larson says:
Say, Q, you wouldn't be intimating that you, too, play on Ellen's team? A member of the Jane Lynch fan club (the only possible reason to suffer through "Glee")? A sister who eats at the "Y"?

If so, good to know there's another. Most of these forums are pretty heavy on the sausage side.

Lonely here, so very lonely.... And intermittently boring, too. All of these "games". If it weren't for threads like "What the purpose of naughty movies", there'd be no point in wasting my empolyer's time here.

While I don't dine out at the YWCA, I am in agreement about the sad decline of our Movie Lounge. Lonely, indeed. Are you really working so late, or are you just saying in general, you post from work? And if you're not at work and have a hot meal waiting for you down at the Y, what on earth are you doing here? :p
Wonder if Q will respond to your query?

Jonathan says:
Hikari, with all due respect, Q might me to busy enjoying the lively conversations we're having on the Hitchcock, Cult, and Movie Game threads.

You find intelligent conversation where there are capable posters. You find decline and disappointment where there are petty, troublesome posters. Sometimes it's best to abandon failed threads and venture into terra ignota, even if it comes with the dreaded warning of being a "game" thread.

Is this a rhetorical question? To be tactful, it provides fantasy entertainment for people who need or like it. Pornography is not getting more popular in the mainstream - are you kidding? Half of the US wear their shorts so tight, they freak out at the thought of anything sexual!

D. Larson says:
Nah, tonight I'm sitting on the couch with the laptop, half-watching the New Englands play the Ravens. Not particularly interested in the Patriots; less interested yet in the Baltimores. These are ot my peoples.

My peoples did bit the 49ers today, somewhat to my surprise. Young Mr. Ponder continues to exceed my expectations. And, my alma mater won another one, 4-0 now but only working up to the usual late season collapse.

So why am I indifferently watching a Sunday night game instead of indulging in an orgiastic tuna salad meal with a side of rugburn? Well, "Breaking Bad" is done for the year (worst season finale ever!!), I'm not into those AMC westerns and "Robot Chicken" doesn't come on until eleven.

And, more to the point, SWMBO is burrowed into a vast great pile of three-ring binders and legal pads, getting ready for court tomorrow morning. They're starting trial on some particularly unpleasant heinousness, and she isn't up for being distracted by earlobe nibbles or tempted by promises of fine dining. So, it's just Tom Brady, Joe Flacco and me.

A legal widow, left to entertain herself. Maybe we do have some D batteries. after all....

I assume you mean compared to its other season finales? By the way, what didn't you like about it?

Q says:
Why, of course!

However, Jane Lynch or not, I cannot bring myself to watch Glee. Ack!

PS- The games aren't *all* bad! There are a few friendly ones out there! There is discussion as well!
