For the love of -- WHY?!?

Good thing that time I saved it. I don't know why I thought I might need to. I didn't say one thing in it that went against Guidelines for posting, and I didn't think I said anything controversial.

Here's my theory:
Lewser Archer knows somebody at Amazon, or just hits "Report abuse" on ALL my posts, and it's a roll of the dice which ones get through, based on the ignorance of whoever's deleting them.

There's only one other person on this forum with as obsessive a grudge against me. And I don't think they would stoop that low, although they have posted here before, so maybe.

This is so aggravating. No justice for the falsely accused here.

A Reminder:

By the end of next Sunday (the 24th,) the list is going to be chopped apart (leaving only titles with +6 or more) so that less than half of what is here now will remain.
I expect there to be no more than 50 titles by the 25th of June.
So, once again, if you want to help save some of these from extermination, you'd better start voting for them.

There are lots of good ones that still only have +5 currently:

Ray's "Calcutta Trilogy"; the "Captain Nemo" Jules Verne steampunk trilogy; "A Man Called Horse" three; the "The Maxim Trilogy"; "The Mick Travis Trilogy"; "7th Voyage of Sinbad"; "Three Flavours Cornetto"; Argento's "Three Mothers"; Pasolini's "Trilogy of Life"; Rossellini's & Wajda's "War" trilogies.

And others besides which may be preferred, or +6 trilogies that you may feel need reenforcing.

So far, the only rivalries to stir up are between the controversial Hitchcock inclusion, and the 'Topper' films (oddly enough.)

_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/

On the 25th, I'll probably be including 4 or 5 other trilogies to refill part of the hole, among the likely are: the "Universal Dracula" trilogy, Wise's "Haunting Trilogy"; the Flynn/Curtiz "Swashbuckler Trilogy"; the "Re-Animator" trilogy; and the Resnais/Gruault trilogy.

Other suggestions for trilogies to add are solicited, if anyone can think of some new ones.

I'll start off the next round of suggestions, because I feel bad about deleting Walsh's "What Price Glory?" trilogy, by making the argument for the Raoul Walsh "Naughty 'Nineties Trilogy". Three excellent nostalgic looks at the 'Gay 'Nineties' Americana, from the rough and tumble New York in 'The Bowery', to 'Strawberry Blonde''s more musical evocation of the Tammany Hall era, and then he concludes by going cross country to meet 'Gentleman Jim' Corbett in San Francisco, the first heavy weight boxer to be "civilized" with Marquis of Queensberry rules.

↑↑↑ That's the post which was deleted from 4:40 today.

Not a word was changed in it now.

*Why* was it deleted?

Are the words "extermination" or "gay" not allowed in the same post, even when used in an entirely innocent context.

The phrase "Gay 'Nineties" has nothing whatever to do with homosexuality, if the problem is that the censor is an illiterate.

And I didn't mean anything violent by the phrase "chopped apart" -- if the censor cannot read for context.

Then again, I think I'm being targeted, and I think my posts aren't even read in part before they're deleted.

It truly is "who you know, not what you know"!

But then again, maybe the "..based on the ignorance of whoever's deleting them..." comments ain't helping your cause.

I once made the mistake of getting on the wrong side of the lady who processed all my sales-orders. Before she got sacked, she started fudging the orders, making it look like I wasn't doing my job properly (people getting the wrong stuff, or less than they ordered, or discounts not tallied correctly, etc). Even though she was wrong about what originally caused our beef, if i could've gone back in time to avoid the beef, i would have....because...it was bad for business, you know.

Martian sanity and logic brought down to a lowly human's emotions. . .

Yeah, I know I'm being pointlessly confrontational about these censors (especially pointless if I'm wrong and it's an automatic-censor failure!)

I hate censorship, above all when it's based on a misunderstanding that the offended is afraid to admit they made a mistake on.

You're right. No point in howling at the faceless wind.
It blows, and there's nothing I can do to stop it.

I may be wrong about Lew having a hand in this. It could be the other person that's been cracking up the last few days and downvoting my posts.
It could just be an auto-censor-bot error.

It feels deliberate, though, and spiteful. And to that, I can't help myself sometimes at reacting indignantly!
....I'll do me best to suppress any outburst!!:

Forgive me, I'm too tired to read through the 156, but gay 90's has caught my eye.

Re: Sloany's saleslady's beef

So, you are selling items on here as well, eh? What is it that you are selling? It must be in huge quantities if the services of a sales lady is required!!

Nah, this was back in the day when I was a sales rep. I used to have to call on hairdressers and sell them...stuff. Combs, clippers, shampoo, hair-nets, scissors, attitude alignments, perm lotion, brushes, hair straighteners, fashion tips, pomades, waxes, gels, mirrors, reasons why they aren't as important as they thought, conditioner, curling tongs, blowdryers, latex gloves, my soul.....

Oh, and throw in a hair net while you're at it. You never know when you might need one of those!

Re: "first decent horror" claim

I was permanently scarred by the viewing of 'It' and 'Pet Semetary' one night at a church lock-in. The big kids must have thought it was quite funny to provide such appropriate viewing material for late night sleepovers. Us little kids tried to watch through our fingers without being noticed. And then young Q went home the next day and slept with her mother until she was 14.

I still get creeped out by dark grey cats.

@Attitude alignments
NOT a big seller. Sadly.
The one thing that always stood out to me about the world of hairdressing - a world I had been a part of since day dot - was the inflated self-importance hairdressers felt about what they do. The way they acted, you would think they were saving the world, one snip at a time. Still, the industry put food on my table, but Dang if I didn't grow to detest it.

@first decent horror claim
Mine was 'Halloween'. My parents had rented it, but wouldn't let my brother and I watch it. We were like "Hey, we like Halloween, let us watch." Of course, we basically had no idea it was a scary film....at least, we didn't really know it would be THAT scary.
So in the middle of the night, we crept out to the tv, put it on, and sat there in the dark watching Jaimie Lee Curtis run away from The Shape. Didn't scare my brother much, but it freaked me out good and proper. For weeks I wouldn't even walk down the hallway of our house without turning on all the lights, not only in the hallway, but in all the rooms running off it.

Today, 'Halloween' is one of my favorite films.

That bit in 'Pet Semetary' when the little kid is walking towards his dad, crying, saying "no fair"...that bit freaks me out for some reason.

Oh, and 'Better Off Dead' RULES!
