This is not a game.

We have one of these over in the music forum and I thought it'd be nice to have one here that [please] doesn't generate into a long winded discussion.

So give me your top (or bottom) ten lists. It can be anything. Top ten movies with "power" in the title. Top ten movie theme songs. Top ten actors you'd like to take luge lessons with. Top ten directors you want to punch in the face. Top ten unintentional period piece films.

I have suggested enough. Go forth, my minions, and destroy.

(Ole!)

Good list, Rock, although I can't imagine Beetlejuice would be anything aside from a pain in the butt.

I forget that there was a time when Rourke wasn't a total trainwreck. I imagine he went into the discount plastic surgeon one day and said, "Hey you know I am just too hansom. Could you make me way less hansom? Thanks."

Carma Chan says:
It is sad how many actors fall into trap of plastic surgery.

I met Tippi Hedren at a comic book convention last year and she looked fabulous - she was the blonde in The Birds. I don't think she's had any botox or surgery.

Yeah, it's really sad to see what alcohol, drugs, surgery and botox do to a face. I still love him, though, flawed as he is. I was very happy to see him come back, happy that The Wrestler did so well. I will always have a soft spot in my heart for Mickey Rourke. Loved him in Angel Heart too.

RNR - great list! I'd have to agree on all of them.

I'd love to hang out with Dr. Sheldon Cooper too.
And the wolf in Being Human (Josh)

I'd like to hang out with Mae West.

RNR, I was a singer in a local rock band in Salt Lake City 1981, and we did 5 covers of Judas Priest. That was a blast!

Really?! That sounds epic! What songs did your band cover of theirs?

NO! Don't remind me of that one. I meant biographical movies, you silly!

Almost, Carma.

Rock - Biographical? I'm not sure I could sit through a movie about that windbag Gene Simmons. And Iggy Pop? Watch Velvet Goldmine. It's totally not about David Bowie and Iggy Pop.

My favorite Priest song to sing that the guys knew how to play was The Ripper. We also did Green Manalishi, Diamonds & Rust, Breaking the Law, and Hell Bent for Leather. I wish the guitarists had been able to do more from Sad Wings of Destiny, and I would have loved to have done Metal Gods - that's fun. I saw them in L.A. in 1985? Somewhere around that timeframe, the Turbo Lover tour.

Kiss was one of the concerts I saw in my teens. LOUD! The Salt Palace had terrible acoustics.

Velvet Goldmine was recommended to me awhile ago and I still haven't gotten around to seeing it yet. It sounds really good though. I'm going to have to rent it out sometime soon.

In reply to an earlier post on May 16, 2012 4:01:24 PM PDT
Metal Gods is one of my favorite songs by them. When I listen to the British Steel album I always replay that track a few times. 1985 was a good time to have seen them live. I wish I had a time machine and could go back to 1985. What a great year.

Yeah. There was a time that Rob Halford was the sexiest man alive in my book. Then someone told me he's gay, and I couldn't believe it. That's how ignorant I was. I thought all gay men were, you know, "gay". Feminine. I was very sad that day.
