By "Top", I really just mean my personal favorites. This is really a list of the 100 albums I've listened to the most, more than anything.

I have actually made little write-ups under each album that I may post here at a future time (if anyone is actually interested...).

No Kinks on there? Oh well...each to their own.
Is it the US or UK 'Rubber Soul' you like?

Hi Bernard,

I prefer the US Rubber Soul. I've always felt that acoustic "wooden" tone of the US version is the "definitive" Rubber Soul. But that's probably because I've never been much of a fan of "Drive My Car", for instance. I bought the 2009 Stereo Digipak but re-sequenced my own copy to better duplicate the US version. I made a little custom inner sleeve for the disc that I can tuck into the left hand side "Apple Logo Pocket". But I have a habit of making custom copies of almost every Beatles album.

Three Kisses and three Led Zeps in the top 10 and no Beatles. Sixteen albums from Kiss and no Byrds or Kinks. God, are you young!

Jeff
Thanks for the reply.
I like the tracks 'Nowhere Man' and 'If I Needed Someone', so I guess I'll stick with the UK album, which I grew up with, and have on vinyl as well as CD.
I couldn't compile a list without including The Kinks. I only have one Kiss album, 'Destroyer', which I've hardly ever played.

Dr. Mikey says:
Puffany, Man, the generation gap is showing. But with Miles Davis at #2 and the Beatles finally appearing at 30, plus Abraxas at 69 and Moby Grape, you are showing real hope for your generation ;-). I have to confess that I don't have any rap on my list and, Bernard, you are more advanced than I since I don't even own any Kiss records. I guess things are getting polarized, Puff, when your selections (no Kinks or rap) seem to represent a middle ground. Keep listening, everyone.

That is what I call a vast palette of taste.
Oasis - Kitaro = great album

In reply to an earlier post on Feb 25, 2013 1:33:35 PM PST
GarionOrb says:
Thanks! Oasis was actually responsible for my "musical awakening", so to speak. I never really listened to or paid attention to music until that album. My eighth grade English teacher would have us listen to something and have us write down our thoughts on a journal. We listened to the first three tracks on Oasis one day and I was mesmerized. I had her make me a copy right away...and then I ended up buying every Kitaro album I could find, haha! My tastes then started going to synthpop, and kept evolving from there.

I listened to Oasis the other day...still sounds great.

In reply to an earlier post on Feb 25, 2013 1:37:43 PM PST
"India" [1985] was the last LP I ever bought.

I never got that one...he has so many! I think I easily have around 15 or so of his albums, and there's still tons I'm missing. Sad that most of the early stuff is long out of print.

I listened to Oasis recently as well and got into it. It (Morning Glory) still sounds great. There was a long time I wouldn't listen to them because Liam's head was always in the news for being a d'head and their music was rammed down your throat - overkill!
