Maybe I'm just in a "completely burnt out" phase for Aerosmith, but I don't find much outside the debut and Rocks that really gets me going these days and I don't even listen to those 2 albums all that often.

So my top 15 (ok, 17...) would be those two albums in their entirety minus a couple, although I like every song on both.

Here's what's in my iTunes as favorites that do not come from those two albums:

- Train Kept A Rollin
- Same Ol' Song and Dance
- Lord of the Thighs
- S.O.S. (Too Bad)
- Sweet Emotion
- Toys In The Attic
- Walk This Way
- Big Ten Inch Record
- Get It Up
- Draw The Line
- Kings and Queens
- Come Together (from Live Bootleg)
- Remember (Walking in the Sand)
- Lightnin Strikes
- Let The Music Do The Talking

And "She's On Fire" makes 16, but I like that track too....

^ I can't account for it - but something about that song has always been capable of driving me to hit repeat over and over. It's a mystery from an Aerosmith period that I otherwise heapingly despise. Weird - and you can't even find it on youtube anywhere.

(note: some of the stuff on 'Permanent Vacation' is slowly taking hold with me decades later, i.e. 'St. John', 'Heart's Done Time', 'Hangman Jury'. But even touching the CD still somehow makes me ill cuz of 'Dude....', 'Angel', etc. That album sent me through the roof of pure hate when it came out.)

Re : The Movie

I've "explained" it in different threads because I've always loved it. It has an extra layer. Atmosphere. The title is perfect. You feel the tension, the mood, the drama. Palpable, powerful. I *love* music like that. Another example is McCartney's Live and let Die. Again, no surprise it's a movie theme song. Very few artists can actually conjure up that type of atmosphere in a rock song but when they do it's something special.

Plus the production, the grind and sound of the guitars, the huge thump...it wouldn't have been out of place on Rocks.
