p.s., i heard 'come together' in the car, and i had to smile....great vocal delivery by Johnny, great guitar (both John/George), and what a bass (Paul)...also great 'beat' (Ringo), all equalling 'WHAT A SONG!!!' :)

4) Ian Hunter (Mott)
5) The Hollies
6) The Scaffold

8) The Easybeats (Australia)
9) Procol Harum
10) The Searchers

U.S.

Dear John:
nice list, John! the only one i would be unsure about is Junior Walker...not that they are not a great 'band', but it's the horns thing, you know???

Gena Chereck says:
Ah, they did the theme to 'Community' ("At Least It Was Here")! :D

The other song ("All 'Cause of You") was nice, too. :)

MiBoDoCa says:
Pretty much. The top 3 in the British list has been in the same order for 30 years. The rest is based on mood.

I'm surprised there aren't more California bands listed, no Jefferson Airplane, Grateful Dead, Steve Miller, Mamas & the Papas, etc.

The British Invasion was more like 1963 (late)-1965(late) give or take a few months. :-)

Even groups like the Who for example weren't really considered part of the "British Invasion".

MiBoDoCa says:
The Stones and The Beatles are just not in my top ten. I actually can't stand The Doors.

I (cough, cough) agree with you.

I agree with you when it comes to the Doors! :-) I didn't mind a couple of the songs but overall YAWN!

In reply to an earlier post on Nov 6, 2012 7:31:39 PM PST
Joyce says:
Dear Ronct:
yes, in the strictest sense of the term, that is true...that's why i was asking, is this the case here, or does he simply mean groups that are British vs. groups that are American?
don't know...if it is the first case (as you mentioned here), that would be a pretty narrow amount....
love,
joyce :)

Dear Mitch:
