Meade Skelton says:

"I Think Country Music is the BEST genre!"

I think that you spend too much time sniffing your own farts.

Vivazappa ~

This MeadeSkelton/Haufe/RVACountryLover/ELVIS FAN has more threads here every day and as bad as it is it will only get WORSE.

Country had it's innovators from the 1950's to 1970's. Since then I've found the lyrics anything but clever. There are often fake people doing fake things (old navy vet...lost his wife and baby) or just people trying WAY too hard to convince us how much they love drinking, dancing, girls, trucks, tractors, hunting, and whatnot. I call them "fake rednecks." They couldn't skin a buck or run a trot line if their life depended on it.

Worst of all are the drum and bass guitar patterns. Why can't these musicians give us the TINIEST variations or randomness? Country has become totally intolerant of anything new or innovative.

That's a good start . .
. . but then you need to also skip "Haufe," "RVACountryLover," and many many more . . . and more each day. It's like trying to stay ahead of viruses without updating your Norton or McAfee!

His music isn't really so bad. I've heard worse but it's certainly not 'a new and fresh sound full of lots of personality'. Neither is most new country music I hear.

<<I've heard worse but it's certainly not 'a new and fresh sound full of lots of personality'>>>
I guess this passes as a 'nice review' in desperate circles.

D. Mok says:
That's not a "nice review". That's not a review at all. This is why Meade Skelton/RVACountryLover is not qualified to comment on reviews, review writers and critics. He has no idea what a review is.

Fischman is correct...
How many times have we told ELVIS FAN to hop a frieght train back to Tupelo and he never would go.
This beast that is: "Haufe/MeadeSkelton/ELVISFAN/Brian" and all the other names that it goes by will no-doubt stay settled in these parts for a bit longer.

It wasn't intended to be a review. I can give my opinion without making a personal attack. I've told Meade, when he was using that name, his music isn't bad. I wouldn't buy it but others might. The constant put down of other artists and other genres for the purpose of self promotion, is what turns people off.

Meade is to country music as Cheese-Wiz is to gourmet cooking.

Fischman says:
Which is really saying something because with Country, the bar's set pretty low to begin with!

Chazzzbo says:
There are a lot of great artists who, for one reason or another, could be filed under a Country label. But, just like the label "Rock", it encompasses so many sub-genres that to say it's "the BEST" really isn't saying much of anything. I love to listen to artists like Buck Owens, Johnny Cash, Patsy Cline, and Merle Haggard. And I enjoy Allison Krauss, and Dwight Yoakam, and some Alan Jackson. But I'm not as much a fan of Taylor Swift, Jason Aldean or Lady Antebellum. It doesn't make those artists less talented, they just simply don't appeal to me. Every major genre of music from Classical to Pop has artists worth remembering, and those worth forgetting.

Cheez Whiz has its uses. Meade Skelton does not. He can't even hold a rhythm. He plays so fast that it messes up his vocals, and remarkably, he slows back down in a bar or two, thus negating even the chance at a faster groove. This isn't lack of groove; it's a lack of *any idea* what groove is. Of the pianists I've heard, Skelton is the first one, over the age of 10, who is this bad with timing. A drummer won't help him, because even on his "studio" recordings, he ignores the drummer and leaves the hi-hat to fend for itself while Skelton's piano tramples all over the rhythm.

Right On! He plays straight what Paul Weston spoofed as Jonathan Edwards.

<<<Are you a piano player? That is called artistic interpretation.>>
'artistic interpetations' can be dreadful.
and Meade's a dreadful artist because of his dreadful interpretations.
