You guys should take 5 minutes to read the wikipedia page on him. He's been an active artist for almost 20 years and this is his sixth album. He's not only from Korea, but also from the Gangnam neighborhood used in the title. He's had many hits in Korea and seems to be a really good person.

If you are going to be pokin' a member of the all girl band Scandal, may i reccomend the guitar pleyer. He is a guy and so are all the other members except for the singer, Patty Smyth. She is maried to John McEnroe so may I suggest you stick with the guitar player.

What has 826 million you tube hits and has just set a record???? "Gangnam style" by Psy.
It surpassed justin Beiber. This happened yesterday.

"Oppan Gangnam style
gangnam style"

The singer, Psy, sends a messsage to all Americans from Korea.

....................."Bite Me".............................

"Na je nun ta sa ro un in gan jo jin yo ja
Ko pi han ja ne yo yu rul a neun pum gyo gi nun yo ja"

Are you sure? Either way I think I'll stick with the "all girl" Japanese band called Scandal. Thanks for your recommendation though.

Isn't this song a blatant rip off of Sexy And I Know It by LMAO?
That's how I always heard it.
Anyway as others have mentioned this is just another flash in the pan like Macarena, Ice Ice Baby or Party Rock Anthem (speaking of LMAO).
He doesn't have the goods to sustain a long term career in the West.
And as far as K-Pop goes he's not (in my opinion) up to the standard of a BigBang, 2NE1 or SNSD either...

I like his early stuff. You know, 'Lucky Star', 'Borderline' - but once he got into his 'Papa Don't Preach' phase, I don't know, I tuned out.

I guess you can say that other than the lyrics being mor PG rated compared to other popular party songs.

What's a Psy Gangnam? Are they those new heated slippers that have batteries that keep your feet warm and toasty? I love those!

Nevermind. I've just read through all of the posts here and have learned that a Psy Gangnam is some kind of "fake" pop star (isn't that redundant?).
My slippers were made in Korea. Guess that's where I got confused.

Dance moves? I agree with the poster who asked "what do dance moves have to do with music"??
From what I've seen, this guy stole ALL of his dance moves from Bob Dylan.

C'mon people. Just look at those YouTube numbers! Everyone knows that # of YouTube hits is the ONLY true and reliable indicator of outstanding quality music.

A Psychology Gang member.

re: "From what I've seen, this guy stole ALL of his dance moves from Bob Dylan"

That's true, I always did like watching Bob do "The Pony" and the "Hucklebuck" while singing his songs back in the 60s. Gene, Gene, the Dancin' Machine had nothin' on Bob Dylan.

... and MC Hammer ripped off Rick James...

If anything I think the song and the video mimic LMFAO. It has nothing to do with the music, or his dance moves, he's popular because his video is funny. It's a viral thing.
