I listened to Invincible, she's pretty good. I just never heard from her. Where is she from?

That's true, you get no argument from me there.

ED S. says: "Two of them Have Nilki Manaj in them so be prepared for a major boob protrusion".

Seriously? I mean no disrespect here, even though it may sound like it, but how old are you? Have you not touched a set of girl's boobies yet? Let me tell you first hand - they ARE pretty awesome! But they're certainly not a factor in the music I listen to.

Also, without even going into how offended some women may be by your comments (an obvious influence of Rap in and of itself - total disrespect of women) I have to agree with Ian Davison here - "it never ceases to amaze me how shallow we continue to be as a society."

Stratocaster says:
LOL, this is like watching two guys argue over which is a better meal - a rotting pile of garbage, or a pile of fecal matter.

Sorry........to far?

Ian Davison says:
"...why do I get the feeling I'm being taken for a ride?"

Because you are. Ace is a troll.

Ace says:
Ian have you ever heard of Roman's Revenge. I want you to listen to that song and than let's talk about Mc. Lyte. I didn't disrespect Mc Lyte. I said that she had a hot Track Cha Cha Cha. I had respect for her when she was with Dj K Rock. Now she's better off acting.

A customer says:
All right, ha ha, you got me. I had my suspicions, but I should have known you were joking earlier.

God forbid, if by some minute impossibility you're actually serious about Nicki Minaj being better than MC Lyte, then I'm no longer interested in this conversation; no disrespect to you personally.

In reply to an earlier post on Jan 20, 2013 11:12:40 PM PST
Ace says:
I just hate when people come on here and know nothing about music and yet want to be heard. You talk about disrespect, how do you think I feel. How can you compare Mc Lyte qth Nicki, your joking right?

A customer says:
You just disrespected a legendary MC who's responsible for two of the very finest hip hop albums of the Golden Age era; I'm out.

Ace says:
Ian, come on, Mc Lyte, Mc Lyte had one hit record Cha, Cha, Cha. Mc Lyte battled Salt and pepper and lost.

I said, 90% of the rappers out now. Every guest appearance she makes on other peoples record, lyrically superior.

She was on B.O.B
cut out of my mind, Nicki took over that track.

Ace says:
Please, I would like you to name one female rapper that's better than Nicki. She already took out ill Kim. You have to give up give to her. She is on top of the game. I would as far to say; she is better than 90% of the male rappers out. And if we are talking about freestyle besides Eminem, no one comes closes. Lookup her freestyle and old mix taps.

Ever wondered what Nicki Minaj would sound like without the gimmicks? Something like this:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=khnpjNnXydw

Yes, without the good looks, the curves, the costumes and the music videos, she's just another wack MC spitting wack freestyles with other wack MCs. An embarrassment to hip hop, especially considering that other female MCs who are considerably more talented than Minaj get pushed to the wayside because of her. She's famous because of her looks, period, and it never ceases to amaze me how shallow we continue to be as a society.

Actually, pop is blending spoken and sung word. It is a hot combination today. Here are several red hot songs that I just pump the volume up when I hear them.
Two of them Have Nilki Manaj in them so be prepared for a major boob protrusion on your computer screens. Good Vodeos. Worth viewing and hearing. My top current songs.

Nicki Minaj....."Va Va Voom"

I don't know why or how I even got into this discussion, I am not a fan of hip hop. My teenage son can atest to that. He and I have very different musical interests, unlike me and my older son whose musical taste is much closer to mine.

In any case, I agree that hip hop or any musical genre does not have to always be about specific topics. Just like rock is not always about "sex, drugs and rock and roll" (of course the rock and roll part is there).

look man, Eminem did not glorify drugs like most rapper. He doesn't talk about how he sold drugs. He raps about the effects of drugs., He raps about how his mother abused him. I don't see how you can't see that.

Working Man says:
Ace, if you had said, "I just see a rapper like, "Nicki Minaj" with the likes of Eminem and and Machine Gun Kelly are changing the face of hip hop culture. Hip Hop doesn't need to be all about drugs, lust and violence. A hip hop artist can make music that's not so offensive to the rest of the world" in your original post, it would not have come across as a political statement.

Ace, I can read and it certainly read like you were praising her because she voted for Romney and didn't like Welfare. Now, I don't know much about rappers or their politics but this certainly seemed like a political statement. If she voted for Obama and believed that the abuse of welfare by lazy people was wrong However, she believed that those people who really need assistance because they are out of work due to a bad economy and who are more than willing to work but cannot find a job or they are a single mom whose deadbeat husband left them and they are underqualified deserve some assistance. Would that make her a lousy person?

Eminem had some of the most violent and hateful lyrics ever concerning his ex-wife and Mother.

Ace, come on, the jig is up. We all know you're being facetious. Eminem never rapped about drugs, lust or violence? Nope. Never. *wink*
