I've been listening to three albums exclusively this week.

The Answer "Raise a Little Hell"
The Answer "Revival"
Rush "Clockwork Angels"

However, today I received my Steven Wilson mix of Yes's "Fragile" so right now I am listening it.

There was a thread here about Frank Zappa and at the same time my brother gave me about a dozen of his albums that I didn't have, so I've been soaking in a lot of Zappa here recently. But the main thing all that did was get me back to two of my very favorite Zappa titles: "Sheik Yerbouti" and the DVD audio soundtrack of "Does Humor Belong In Music?" (the latter not being a commercial release, but I ripped the audio from the DVD and love it!).

I was on a Pink Floyd lately. I've been listening to Wish You Were Here and Dark Side of the Moon two disc editions and Animals. I don't listen to DSOTM very often since I played it out back when it came out but this was one of those times. BTW, of the three I am convinced I like Animals the best followed by Wish You Were Here.

E. Dill says:
This week, I'm into one of my searches for what I don't have and want and not for 2015 which I'm already knee deep in. With this one, I've begun with the 1960's and am using as my guidepost/listmaker. (I've done this before). So, I'm doing it by alphabet. I started with the A's and am up to the 700's, that is, 700 out of rym's current top 1000 albums for the 60's.

Here's what I already had with the ratings they gave them and those I don't and maybe ordered:

Albert Ayler - Spirtual Unity #148 (have)
The Allman Bros. - st #177 (didn't have! a suprise to me. I ordered it)
Amon Duul II - Phallus Dei #294 (have)
Kevin Ayers - Joy of a Toy #392 (have)
Louis Armstrong/ Satchmo Plays King Oliver #495 (have)
Axe - Music #508 don't have (this is the UK group from the 60's) can't find. WANT!!
Cannonball Adderley/Bill Evans - Know What I Mean #514 (have)
David Axelrod - Songs of Experience (#552) (didn't have/ordered)
Arzachel - st #566 (didn't have/didn't know of/ordered thru digital download)
David Axelrod - Songs of Innocence #569 (didn't have/ordered)
Arcadium - Breathe Awhile #593) (ordered thru digital download)
Almendra - st #630 (didn't have/didn't know of) (ordered)
Adderley, Nate - Work Song #673 (have)
Ayler, Albert - Love Cry (#705)(have)
Animals - Animalization (#707)(have
Animals - Animalism (#738) (ordered)
Adderley, Cannonball - Them Dirty Blues (#835)(have)
Art Ensemble of Chicago - People in Sorrow (#876) (don't have but this one is a bit high priced...besides, I have 17 other albums of theirs...enough?
Ayler, Albert - Ghosts (#944)(don't have...sniffing around for it at a decent price.
Ackles, David - st (#994) (have....loved the guy!)

So I'm done with the A's, I guess. I'm stoked with Arzachel, Arcadium and Almendra...I've listened to a bit of the first two and love that 60's psych vibe, although I think Arcadium was called prog too. Almendra was a psych rock band from Argentina.

So, this week, I'm sure to be continuing my search though the 60's and listening, first, to the 2 I already have thru download, i.e., Arzachel and Arcadium. Both sound wonderful so far. I already have 3 Axelrod albums but these two I just purchased are often thought of as his best. It's always fun for me to find things that just passed you by when they were out and simply got lost in the shuffle regardless of their talent.

But where is Axe? (and NOT the hard rock Axe) of the 70's but the UK psych rockers of the 60's that came and went much too soon if seems...

ps. I just noticed that The Beatles Second Album was ranked at the 973rd best album of the 1960's. Ok, a lot of great stuff was released over that decade. But 973rd?

Bob Dylan - Shadows in the Night

And that one got me primed for some other latter era Dylan, so I've been revisiting "Tell Tale Signs" as well...
