For one, my list would sorely be lacking if I couldn't count songs between 1960-1963! I'd say only about half my top five (or a top ten) would remain. Surely, "Cherish" and "Daydream Believer" would stay untouched as the top two.

But I can't even fathom losing all time faves such as "So Much In Love" by the Tymes, "One Fine Day" by the Chiffons, "The Night Has A Thousand Eyes" by Bobby Vee, "Heatwave" by Martha & the Vandellas, "Hello Stranger" by Barbara Lewis, "Calendar Girl" by Neil Sedaka, "Travelin Man" by Ricky Nelson and many many others...

Personally, I never got the notion that pop music was "scuffling" prior to 1964. I simply have too many favorites from those years that I cherish.

In fact, on a pure personal enjoyment level, I actually love Elvis Presley or Ricky Nelson more than, say, the Beatles.

In fact my two favorite TWO-sided singles, if I had to choose, would be:

Don't Be Cruel / Hound Dog - Elvis Presley
Travelin' Man / Hello Mary Lou - Ricky Nelson

And despite the countless two-sided gems from 1964 onward, those above two from 1956 and 1961, respectively, would still be ones that I'd personally shelter first. (as far as favorite double-sided singles go).

But as with all this stuff, this is merely a reflection of my humble but happy tastes. :)
