Steve Young was a friend of the Eagles.
Stolen is a pretty harsh call. No matter what the origin, the Eagles still had to perform it. And that they did brilliantly.
This is a discussion about harmonies, not writing credit.

James ~

The Steve Young song "Seven Bridges Road" had been around for years before The Eagles covered it.
Ian Matthews had completed his version of the tune in 1973 and The Eagles stole his arrangement (they had no doubt seen Ian peform live in the clubs of LA) and the rest is history.

Love them both actually, but Seven Bridges gives me goosebumps. And it was live!

P. Quijada ~

The Eagles stole anything from Poco that they could get away with and they copied Poco's songwriting, style and production and even included a singing drummer into the whole deal. Randy and Timmy were kidnapped by Henley and Frey as well.
Poco, over The Eagles anyday of the week!
