I just listened to Five Leaves Left for the first time tonight (I know - I'm a young'n!) and I was struck by how similar Beck's Sea Change album is to it. Beck was clearly heavily showing his appreciation for this album and contains many similarities - very confessional lyrics, stirring baroque strings, spacious production. It also seems very much that he was trying to sing like Drake on the album. The song "Round The Bend" especially reminds me of Drake's "River Man." Just wondering if anyone else has noticied this connection between the two albums?
