@Daniel A. Lazarus,

I actually prefer "In Concert" to "Layla and Other Assorted Love Songs" (but hey, that's just me). ;)

*And to save you a whole lot of typing, you can simply copy and paste my Zappa list (which can be found on Page 12 of this thread, 7 posts from the end of the page), and switch around the album rankings to suit your own tastes!

@BigBad
That is funny that "One Size Fits All" is at the top of your FZ list. It is my favorite as well. "Florentine Pogen" is my favorite track on that album. I would list them all but my list mirrors your list for the most part. "Shiek Yerbouti" would be my second favorite.

@Daniel,

Yeah, "One Size Fits All" is one hell of a great album! "Sheik Yerbouti" however never quite grabbed me in it's entirety as much as some of his other classics like "Hot Rats", "Overnite Sensation" etc. (As you can see, it's halfway down my list). It does have some excellent songs, like Flakes, Bobby Brown, Broken Hearts are for Sphincter-Holes, though I'm not the biggest fan of some of the other tracks on it.

Hey Scott,
"Live In New York" has some great moments on it, though the album loses it for me towards the end with 'The Purple Lagoon', which meanders on too long for my liking (picky, aren't I?).

rankings of my Josh Groban non-Christmas albums:

1. Illuminations - This has become my favorite of his albums so far. This album is a "love it" or "hate it" album amongst his fans. He parted ways with producer David Foster and hooked up with legendary rock producer Rick Rubin, who chose to tone down the bombast of Josh's previous albums. Many of the songs are just Josh, a piano, and the occasional subtle violin or acoustic guitar in the background. Many of the tracks were recorded in one take, which is something that many artists these days would have trouble pulling off because many of them cannot sing without the crutches of various instruments, fluff and computerization. Because he wrote or co-wrote most of the tracks, it feels far more personal and more like the work of a songwriter than a singer. The more and more I listen to the album, the more and more I love it.

2. Awake - My favorite for radio-friendly material.

3. Closer - My favorite for foreign language material.

4. Josh Groban

rankings of my Daughtry albums:

1. Break The Spell - My favorite album by the band so far. It's their most upbeat yet. It feels a lot more authentic and less influenced by other bands. Chris has always been the star of the band for me, but in this album, I really started appreciating and loving the instrumental contributions by the other band members.

2. Leave This Town

3. Daughtry
