I much preferred the Mac version of Sentimental Lady over his solo remake.

I liked a lot of his stuff but he got *real* commercial with French Kiss..a bit too bubblegum for me, but by then I was in the throes of Prog Rock and Fusion.. I'll have to go back and listen again to the album.

OMG RIP. Bob was my favorite F.M. member. "Paris" rocked and never got the due they deserved. Mystery to Me and Heroes Are Hard to Find are going into heavy rotation tonight.

Me too. The 'Bare Trees' album was terrific, and I especially liked his songs on it.

RIP Bob... :(

Sentimental Lady was better by Mac because of the Perfect harmony vocals of Christine McVie!

I was too young in the 1970s to have known about Fleetwood Mac or Bob Welch but I purchased "Bare Trees" sometime in the mid 1990s and I couldn't believe I recognized "Sentimental Lady". I hadn't paid much attention to that song up to that point but after hearing it I became an instant fan. I eventually had all of the Bob Welch era Fleetwood Mac albums as well as his solo albums. Thank you for all the great music Bob.

Tonight on WFMU's 'Pseu's Thing With a Hook,' Pseu played a few of his tunes -- "Come Softly to Me" (with C. McVie), "Three Hearts," and "Precious Love." Very nice stuff. :)

Fleetwood Mac (Robert Welch) - Coming Home

We are the hungry ones
On a campground that's been and gone
Where are all the faces that I knew?
All the heroes in the bright burning truth
Makes you feel real, real good in your bones
When the hunger stops and the truth is known
My life, my light is coming home
Yeah, coming home

Didn't sound like it to me, at least it was a noticeable difference.

I too missed out on listening to Bob's stuff with Fleetwood Mac,but would love listening to some and will if i can find any cd's, albums ,cassettes etc..or..yknow ..however..But growing up I had the album French Kiss and played it frequently..Hot Love Cold World being a favorite of mine at the time..He was definitively a great musician, and his passing is so sad to hear.

Also I love his Cal Jam II performance..I've only seen it on tv and on Youtube, but seeing him well as the other performers must've been sweet..But that video (Ebony Eyes )with Stevie joining him onstage and all..I still watch it from time to time.

R.I.P. Bob

The whole Sentimental Lady remake was really about an 80% Fleetwood Mac remake. John McVie doesn't play bass and I don't think Stevie Nicks sings on it. Other than that, they're all on it including Lindsey.

Bob Welch was great artist and songwriter. Didn't he write
"Hypnotized" by F'wood Mac on the 'Mystery to Me' album?
It is a hauntingly beautiful song.
