Just because you hate country music doesn't mean it's not good, I love it and I'm a big fan. Not that there aren't bad country songs because there are. And yes I'm referring to you Jason Aldean and Carrie Underwood among others. Blech!

But really so many bad songs, so little time, and really there's literally hundreds of them I'm sure. I'd nominate Tiny Tim's Tiptoe Through The Tulips for one, and The Beatles (yes I said the Beatles!) Hey Jude for another. I've always hated that song and I don't see why people think it's a "classic". And that's just for starters. I'll think of more eventually.

I agree Hey Jude was far from the Beatles finest. I get the classic comment though I don't care for the song, being that it was ment more as a comfort by Paul to John Lennons son on the break-up of his parents and the subsiquence of Yoko's entering their lives.

I'll hold to my no country music though. Maybe I could get into it some if it wasn't for the dang nassle whine of most country singers. Heck I love Johnny Cash, could listen to him all day long, but a minute with some of the others raises my hackles.

Tears in Heaven.

I wish Clapton's son had never died so I wouldn't have been subjected to that crapfest. What a pile.

I'm finding out I have really funky/bad taste when it comes to music. A lot I agree with but a few I loved when I was a kid! Oh well, can I add 'MmmmBop' to the list.

Wasn't that a Warrant song? Hey Jules!

Me too! That's because Johnny Cash was outlaw country music, not the whiny kind, lol.

Corrections. "Shut Down Vol. 2" was released in March, 1964, during the height of Beatlemania; the first two Capitol Beatles albums had already been released. And the first "Shut Down" LP, from the year before (1963) is on CD, as an import.

Well "that" is something you don't hear every day.

Going hand in hand with "Patches" is another Dickey Lee song from a couple of years later, "Laurie (Strange Things Happen)".

R. Harris says:
a lot of good suggestions on here. Some songs are really not that bad in the instant sense, but get such horrific overplay that they take on a new level of repugnance because you have time and motivation to analyze every moment and hear again and again the flaws. "You Are So Beautiful (To Me)" by Joe Cocker with it's incredibly flat last note; "Stairway To Heaven" by LZ and anyone who's ever done it; "Tears In Heaven".
But others are just plain bad; "You Light Up My Life" for instance.

Bobby Darin's "Clementine." Death pop, an upbeat, happy, jazzy song about a 299 pound daughter who falls through a wooden bridge in the ocean surf, stays down way too long, and Darin sings happily to anyone on whaling vessels to keep watch for her out on the ocean in case she survived.

Tom...I agree and if I ever see any member of that band out in public, they'll get the biggest beating of their life via my hatred for that song.

How about that Julian Lennon song, Sittin On A Pebble By the River Playing Guitar. How the crap do you sit on a pebble?
