willis says:
dylan is the best songwriter to ever live. i argue with people about that all the time, they say he can't sing and it pisses me off so much! um...first of all he can sing. second, he's doing whatever the hell he wants and doesn't care if you like it or not. third...listen to the nashville skyline album and then tell me he can't sing bc that album doesn't really sound like early dylan or even dylan today, it's a soft and sweet voice singing some of his best songs.

I buy cd's every 1-3 days so I added a few extras to show my range of music.

ED S:

I don't know how much you know about jazz, but they represent 4 of my last 5 (I know that some will dispute whether Chris Botti should come under the heading of Jazz):

Stylistics- The Original Debut Album
Charles Lloyd Quartet - Rabo de Nube
Sonny Rollins Plus 4
Christ Botti - Slowing Down the World
Charlie Haden with Don Cherry and Ed Blackwell - The Montreal Tapes

I just came across this thread a few minutes ago. I look forward to reading about what folks are listening to.

Arlee Bird says:
Recent unemployment has slowed down CD purchases, besides I've been realizing that I own too much recorded music and hardly ever get to listen to much of it. Ah, the burdens of materialism, but I sure like having "stuff".
My most recent purchases:

1. Rush "All The World's a Stage" over the past year I've been getting into Rush and building my collection of their works.
2. The original London cast recording of JESUS CHRIST SUPERSTAR --always liked it, have it on vinyl, wanted to have the CD so I could listen to it sometimes since my turntable needs a needle cartridge.
3. Elliott Smith "XO" -- was basically unfamiliar with his work. This was the 2nd CD of his work I've purchased in the last year-- it's nice music to listen to.
4. Boccherini's "Guitar Quintets" by Europa Galante. I'd heard the "Fandango" quintet on the radio and thought it was so cool that I immediate ordered the CD from Amazon. I don't think it's as good as the version I had heard on the radio, but it's still pretty darn good.
5. "Monsieur Gainsbourg" a tribute compilation to Msr. Sergio G that I heard about on one of the discussion threads. Curious enough to order it -- it's pretty good.
