I love Sharon Jones and The Dap Kings. I didn't know they've been around since 1996. How did you find out about her?

cw,

re: I have never been to Palasades Park

I went there once with my family in the 60's. Great song!

Hey Althea,

I saw what a jerk Mitch was to suck up the remaining posts to the original thread and left him some of my thoughts on his behavior. I see you still posted some good Kinks info/links on Kinky despite him and that shows what a classy lady you are.

I am linked up to your group as well and have been exploring the links you and others posts.

ronct,

I deleted all but maybe 2 posts from his Beatles thread.

Stevign started the Kinky thread so I will do all my posts about The Kinks over there.

Thank you for you support. I was so taken aback when he did that. I bent over backwards to be nice to that guy. I've learned my lesson and put him on ignore.

The thing that made the 60s so great and creative, is the experimentation and many of the artists and groups influencing each other. There were no limits to what music could be back then.
Some of my favorites, besides The Beatles, were The Animals, Rolling Stones, The Byrds, Bob Dylan, P.F. Sloan, Barry McGuire, Donovan, Jefferson Airplane, Johnny Rivers,The Doors,The Electric Prunes and The Kinks.

Whewww!

It is not easy moving all this music to another home. Hope we're here awhile.

yes there was alot of changes in music between 1960 and 1969 and radio was still mostly localy owned and A.M. radio there was still 50,000 watts clear chanell radio so certain stations you could hear in several states like wkbw ,Bufallo N.Y. you could hear it at night here in York,P.A. clear as a bell
