B. Boothe says:
Ever hear a few songs and start to think that they'd make an interesting theme for a play list? I have several building up at the moment, but as my ideas are currently limited to what I might hear on the radio or at someone's house, I thought I'd turn to the forum to see if I could get some ideas. As the hatter says, "more heads are better than one, right?"

One list I'm having a particularly difficult time building is one where every song has a strong bass guitar line. Not just that it has bass guitar in it (there are only about a billion of those), but one where the bass is a central character to the song. A couple of examples include "Immigrant Song" by Led Zepplin and "Short Skirt, Long Jacket" by Cake.

I'm certainly not limited to classic rock (and in fact wouldn't want to be as I prefer variety), but I would like to stay away from rap and anything really obnoxious (e.g. heavy metal).

Thanks for the input.

See early Public Image Ltd. w/ Jah Wobble. Also, pretty much ANYTHING by the original line-up of the Gang of Four. (Sara Lee was good, too, but no Dave Allan.)
