I love both drummers and both bands they each play for. I like Charlie's drum sound more and I think he's probably a more versatile player than Ringo, but Ringo I think has crafted more original drum parts that are not what you'd expect from a drummer. Plus, from what I can gather, Ringo's funnier and more fun to party with. Give me Ringo!

They weren't the extrovert drummers that Keith Moon and maybe even Ginger Baker were, especially Watts.
Mick Avory was a bit like that as well, just got on with the job, no attention seeking, no long solos and all that.

Ringo was with THE BEST band ever. That's enough for me to give the edge to Ringo. It's Ringo for me.

Ring was HEAPS better than Pete Best. Very wise of them to ask Ringo to join.

Charlie Watts name could be one of the choices on a grade school multiple choice science test:

Who invented the light bulb?

A. Sparky Smith
B. Charlie Watts
C. Thomas Edison
D. AC/DC

Ringo Starr is a great rock star name.

Ringo or Charlie? Ringo

Ringo. He always kept a beat; never played the same thing twice. Now how do you top that. Besides, go back and listen to his work on "Within Without You", "Come Together", or anything on "Abbey Road", "Srgt Pepper's", "Magical Mystery Tour" and so on.

Charlie is the master of swing and groove. Ringo could ride the cymbals like nobody else on the Beatles' early material.

But overall, it's gotta be Charlie. If there's any doubt, listen to "When the Whip Comes Down" off 'Some Girls' or "Rough Justice" off 'A Bigger Bang'.

The Beatles were the greatest band of all time. But Keith Moon and Charlie Watts rule when it comes to rock drummers.

I'm not sure what the problem some people have with Ringo. He was/is a good drummer.

Maybe it's because he doesnt use(or need) a mountain of drums around him.
